To be expected from an expansion pack, Destiny 2‘s latest expansion, Lightfall, introduces a new area called Neomuna and tons of quests and Activities for Guardians to complete. But you need to clear a specific quest in order to unlock the new Terminal Overload Public Event and earn Keys for sweet loot: the “Stargazer” Quest. Obtained from Quinn in the Hall of Heroes, watch YouTuber WoW Quest’s video below or continue reading for our guide on how to complete the “Stargazer” Quest in Destiny 2: Lightfall.
1. Loot a Terminal Overload Chest
“Loot the Terminal Overload reward chest at the end of the activity.”
As mentioned above in the quest description, your objective is straightforward enough: join up in any Terminal Overload Pubic Event in Neomuna and loot the chest once it’s over. If you and your teammates complete all three stages of Terminal Overload, you’ll be presented with two chests. One is the standard loot chest, while the second one needs a Terminal Overload Key to be opened.
To complete the first step of “Stargazer” in Destiny 2: Lightfall, you don’t need to open both chests though; simply looting the standard one is enough. In case you’re wondering how to obtain a Terminal Overload Key, you can get it by opening chests, clearing out Patrols and Public Events in Neomuna, as well as completing Nimbus Bounties after leveling up their vendor to Level 13.
2. Defeat the Vex Hydra
“Defeat the Vex Hydra in Esi Terminal to obtain a high-security passcode.”
Now we need to get to Esi Terminal. First, head to Zephyr Concourse and go to the eastern side of the area. Jump over the ticket gate, keep following the yellow corridor, and you’ll arrive at Esi Terminal. Go right, take down some Vex on the stairs, and keep going past the Cyclops. In the corner, you will find the Vex Hydra concealed behind a Wyvern, a group of Goblin, and a Minotaur. After defeating the Vex Hydra, you will receive the passcode.
3. Obtain a Terminal Overload Key
“Obtain a Terminal Overload Key by completing public events, looting chests, or completing patrols.”
As I wrote in the first step, you should be able to find a Terminal Overload Key from chests, run Patrols and Public Events in Neomuna, as well as complete Bounties after leveling up Nimbus to Level 13.
Do note that other Guardians on social media also seem to be frustrated with the item drop rate. Some players said the first Key drop will take a long time, but they should drop much more often afterward. You might want to grind patrols with faster turnover rates and use the Treasure Hunter Mod for your Ghost to locate chests. We also have a guide on Neptune Region Chest Locations.
4. Open a Terminal Overload Key Chest
“Use a key to open a Terminal Overload Key Chest.”
Once you have a Key, just run another Terminal Overload Activity and complete all three stages. Then use the Key to unlock the exclusive chest. Simple enough.
5. Return to the Hall of Heroes
“Return to the Hall of Heroes to repair Stargazer’s memorial.”
Head back to the Hall of Heroes and approach the Stargazer Memorial. It will be automatically repaired, and you’ll learn some interesting tidbits about the history and lore of Neomuna.
6. Speak with Quinn, The Archivist
“Return to Quinn to discuss the next steps.”
Then, still in the Hall of Heroes, go to Quinn the Archivist, and talk to her. You’ll be rewarded with a Power Engram for a Neomuna Weapon, and you have completed the “Stargazer” Quest in Destiny 2!
