In Destiny 2, you will come across multi-step quests involving a series of other tasks and challenges to complete. Recently, the event of Solstice started that also had a similar activity known as Bonfire Bash. Thankfully, the majority of those long quests will reward the player with some fantastic loot. This is the case for the Symphony of Death quest, and here is how to complete it in Destiny 2.
Destiny 2 Symphony of Death Quest Walkthrough
As much as Symphony of Death itself is a complex quest to complete, unlocking this quest is as complicated as well. To get this quest, you must complete the Memory of Sai Mota quest. To get started, you have to talk to Eris Morn, and your first task is to accept and finish the Lunar Spelunker bounty.
Completing this bounty will earn you the Firewall Data Fragment necessary to progress through the quests. In order to clear this bounty, you have to complete K1 Communion, K1 Crew Quarters, and K1 Logistics Lost Sectors. After you’ve completed the sectors, return to Eris and get your Firewall Data Fragment.
Then you have to travel back to K1 Revelation in order to use your Data Fragment to unlock a certain door. Once you’ve completed this Lost Sector, the door is at the end of an orange-colored tunnel. Then use your fragment to open the door, and you will be tasked with obtaining Sai Mota’s Broken Necklace. The necklace is broken, so you have to collect 20 Necklace Scraps.
To obtain the Necklace Scraps, you have to kill enemies in Sorrow’s Harbor with Arc abilities. It’s not necessary to deal damage with Arc, but just the deadly blow at the end must be with Arc’s ability. Each enemy will drop a Necklace Scrap, and after collecting 20, you are good to return to Eris. Once you return to Eris, you will see that she is not there. A portal will be opened where she was standing. Use the gateway to go to the Scarlet Keep and hand over Sai Mota’s necklace to Eris. Now you will get the Symphony of Death quest.

The first step of the quest is to explore the Circle of Bones, which will lead to another mission called Faculties of the Skull. You must complete that quest in order to progress through the main quest. Completing that quest will reward you with Silent Skull that you must bring back to Eris. She will again ask you to gather bones by completing three tasks:
- Complete a Public Event in the Hellmouth
- Clear K1 Revelation Lost Sector
- Defeat a Wandering Bone Collector in the Anchor of Light area
Completing each quest will reward you with different bones. Once they are collected, head back to Scarlet Keep, but this time you have to slay Sulmakta, the High Conductor. He is located on the second floor, and you will see other NPCs fighting him as well. Just make sure you deal damage to Sulmakta to progress.
Then, you will be tasked with defeating different enemies. This is the task that will take the most time, so you should complete other quests on the side while progressing with this one. To clear this task, you have to defeat a certain number of Red Bar enemies, Yellow Bar enemies, which are mini-bosses, and bosses or other Guardians.
Once you’ve defeated the required amount of enemies, the final task of the Symphony of Death quest in Destiny 2 will appear. You have to return to Circle of Bones and face Ir Airam the Deathsinger. This will trigger the Choir of the Damned quest, which leads to deep under the moon, where you will face Deathsinger to defeat him.
After you’ve slayed the Deathsinger, you will get Ir Airam’s Skull. Return the skull back to Eris Morn, and you will be rewarded with Deathbringer Exotic Rocket Launcher. And with that, the Symphony of Death quest will be complete.
Destiny 2 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
