The second trial that you will need to learn how to complete in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the Bomb Trial. The bomb trial is just one of four stepping stones on the path to obtaining the Paraglider from the Old Man that you met shortly after waking up. You will have to travel to the Ja Baij Shrine, which can be found in the Eastern portion of the Great Plateau. From there, you will need to head inside. Keep reading to learn how to complete the Bomb Trial in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild: How to Complete the Bomb Trial
As you approach the Ja Baij Shrine, you will see a large Guardian sitting outside of it and an Ancient Spring in the clearing.
You can attempt to attack the Guardian, but the best way to get inside the shrine quickly is to sneak past the guardian and hop over a few walls in order to reach the Shrine.
Using your Shiekah Slate, head inside the Shrine and locate the pedestal. Use your Shiekah Slate once more to access your new ability, Remote bomb.
Directly ahead of the pedestal, you will see a slight decline heading toward a wall of stone that looks damaged, as if it can be broken. Luckily for us, it can be; it just requires some explosive assistance.
Use the R button in order to throw the bomb toward the wall, and once it is close enough, use the L button to detonate the bomb. Though you should make sure you are far enough away from the bomb when it detonates. Otherwise it could potentially hurt you pretty badly.
Now, head into the next area, where you will find another wall that can be broken for you to get past it. Treat it the same way you treated the first wall and blow your way through it so you can carry on through the Ja Baij Shrine.
Now, we’re going to come to a bit more of a tricky portion of the Bomb Trial. You will come to a platform that moves between the place you are standing and a wall that needs to be blown up ahead of you. If you try to throw the bomb, it’s very likely that it won’t make it the distance you need it to, and if you try to stand on the platform with the bomb while you detonate it, it could hurt you pretty badly and maybe even kill you. So, what you’re going to have to do is switch to your square-shaped bomb and place one on the end of the moving platform that is closest to the wall, then head back to safety.
When the platform gets close to the wall, detonate the bomb to clear the wall. Then, hop back on the platform and get a ride to the cleared area to carry on through the shrine.
The next portion of the trial you approach will require you to switch back to the sphere-shaped bomb. Once you do, drop it in the tube shown above and wait for it to be launched toward the wall in the clearing ahead.
Once the bomb gets close, detonate it and hop down so you can climb up the ladder and past the wall.
Now you can finally approach Ja Baij, the Monk of the Shrine that created the Trial for you.
Speak to the Monk, and you will be rewarded with a Spirit Orb.
