How To Complete the Dark Talisman Quest in Stardew Valley

A tedious journey to obtain a powerful item

Dark Talisman in Stardew Valley
This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

After completing the bundles of the Community Center or Joja Community Development Form in Stardew Valley, you can initiate the “Dark Talisman” quest for the Wizard. To initiate this quest, you must view a cutscene in which you encounter the Wizard at the Railroad. During this cutscene, the Wizard will be standing in front of the mysterious status with legs in front of a hole inside the mountain on the top-left corner of the Railroad. You may have attempted to interact with this statuette but to no avail. The reason is that you can only remove it during the “Dark Talisman” quest in Stardew Valley.

After the dialogue exchange with the Wizard at the Railroad in Stardew Valley, you will be tasked with finding “magic ink from his ex-wife’s house” to complete the “Dark Talisman” quest. This magic ink can be found in a location known as the Witch’s Hut, but you will need a specific item before you can access this building.

You must procure a jar of Void Mayonnaise in order to progress the “Dark Talisman” in Stardew Valley. The only way to get this Mayonnaise variant is by acquiring a Void Egg from a random event or from a Void Chicken. To get a Void Chicken, you must own a Big or Deluxe Coop that has room for more animals. Eventually, an event will occur involving a Witch flying over the Coop and spawning a Void Egg inside.

Once you have a Void Egg, place it into your Mayonnaise Machine to produce Void Mayonnaise. Once you have procured this item, head down to the Sewers and speak with Krobus about the quest objective. He will direct you to the mysterious entryway to the left of his location that leads into the Mutant Bug Lair. Explore this area to find a chest with the Dark Talisman in Stardew Valley. Next, head to the Railroad and interact with the odd statue to gain access to the Witch’s Hut. A Goblin will be blocking your path but giving him the Void Mayonnaise will cause him to move. Finally, enter the hut, pick up the magic ink from the table, and use the red pentagram to travel to the Wizard’s Tower and complete the quest.
