Along with Act III of Episode: Echoes in Destiny 2, Bungie released a whole new Exotic mission that was meant to be one of the biggest ones yet. Encore takes place on Nessus, where the Vex are doing all the thing that the Vex absolutely should not be doing. However, unstable and dangerous or not, it’s worth it to venture through the heart of Nessus to grab the brand new Choir of One Exotic weapon on completion. Let’s take a look at how to complete the Encore Exotic mission in Destiny 2.

Check out our full playthrough of the mission right here!

Investigate the Conductor’s Domain

Starting out in the Planetary Core of Nessus, you’ll need to find your way through Nessus to learn how the Conductor has diverted the flow of radiolaria to the planet’s core. This means you’ll be doing a bit of platforming to climb up trees to get to the entrance of Nessus’ core. At the top of the tree off to the far right from where you spawned in, you’ll find a tunnel that you must jump down to move on.

From there, you’ll fall into the core of Nessus and be able to follow the obvious path to your destination. However, there is one location that get a bit tricky. When you come to the wall with two moving platforms, go through the first moving platform section, but rather than moving through the second, turn to your side and start looking for the area that’s filled with purple light. Head through that area instead. After you get through there, you’ll find your first Vex Module, which takes us to your first puzzle.

Puzzle #1

From this point on, you’ll be completing a whole bunch of puzzles that involve moving around Vex Modules from node to node.

  • Pick up the Connection Module from the first node and drop it in the next accessible Vex Node to create a bridge. Interact with the white Vex Conflux tower, then turn back and uninstall the Connection Module from the node.
  • Head to the next node and put the Connection Module in to activate the next bridge and interact with that Vex Conflux. Uninstall the Connection Module.
  • Repeat the process with the next two nodes and cross the bridge created by the fourth node.
  • From there, defeat the enemies and pick up the Partition Module that drops from a yellow bar Vex.
  • Take the Partition Module to the Partition node and install it to open up the path to the Connection node and collect the Connection Module, then insert it into the next Connection node.
  • Take the Connection Module back to the second Connection node and unlock the bridge to the next area.
  • Follow the path to the next Connection Module and collect it.
  • Drop the second Connection Module into the first Connection node, then grab the first Connection Module from the second Connection node.
  • Drop the first Connection Module in the final Connection node past the first node bridge.

Puzzle #2

After you make it through the first puzzle, head through the platforming stage with the massive Vex cylinders surrounded by Vex Milk. Jump through to the next room and defeat the enemies as they spawn in. After they die, you’ll be able to pick up the Partition Module.

  • Plug the Partition Module into the Partition node across from where you entered the area.
  • Head to the second floor to pick up the Access Module, then plug it into the first Access node. Go through the Access portal and defeat the Vex enemies there.
  • After the enemies die, pick up the second Access Module and put into into the Access note on the right side of the area.
  • Head back through the portal to the first Access node and take the Access Module out of it, then head back through the second portal.
  • Take the Access Module out of the second Access node portal and install it into the third Access node, which can be found up against the wall of the area.
  • Take the Connection Module out of the Connection node and enter the third Access node portal to put it into the section Connection node.
  • Head back out and take the second Access Module from its node and put it in the fourth node within the third Access portal, on the second Connection Module bridge.

Boss Fight

After you complete the second puzzle, you’ll go through another portal which will take you into the Vex Jungle Construct. Here, you’ll need to fight a Subjugator and a Tormentor. Using Access Modules, hop through the various portals after taking the boss’s health down to move on to the next area. Alternating between using Vex Modules and taking the boss health down, move to the Ishtar Research Facility and interact with the dead Exo lying on the ground. Wait for the wall to open up at the end of the room and move on to the final boss.

Now, it’s time to take out Parodos, Choral Mind. You’ll need to alternate between defeating enemies to get Vex Modules, unlock bridges and Vex Conflux, and entering damage phases on the boss fight. After you get to the point where a Vex cube appears near Parodos, shoot it to unlock the next damage phase and defeat the boss.
