Escape from Tarkov is an intense and grueling competitive FPS survival experience with many complex, vague quest chains, such as The TerraGroup Trail. This quest line by the Fence is a 15-part chain with survivors trying to extract from various maps while completing multiple objectives. Tarkov‘s TerraGroup Trail is one of the largest quest chains in the game but can be streamlined with other quests being completed. Further, the TerraGroup Trail has been released with pre-wipe patches, so it’s important to note that this information may change or be appended in the future.
There are a whopping total of 15 quests in the quest chain. As they pursue this quest, players will become intimately familiar with some of the most contested maps in Escape from Tarkov. Also, this is considered to be a late-wipe chain. It requires a heft of resources, such as the Black Lab Keycard and hideout room functionality as well.
TerraGroup Trail, Part 1
With mentions of possible drug use, a slew of loot, and the Health Resort, The TerraGroup Trail Part 1 in Tarkov starts with a bang. You’re looking for a truck on the west side of the Health Resort, with a couple of dead strewn about. The quest will update, and you must extract successfully to complete this first part. The truck is just southwest of a downed airliner, but it’s on a bare spot of the hill. Be mindful of possible snipers from high ground on the west of the truck.
TerraGroup Trail, Part 2
The Therapist tasks the player with discovering the drug the Scavs are on. Once this quest begins, you can find the drugs as a possible spawn on one of two maps — Shoreline or Lighthouse. On Shoreline, they spawn near the wrecked truck from Part 1. On Lighthouse, however, these soldiers can be found in the vicinity of the central village. While the enemies necessary will spawn, there’s a chance that the loot will not drop. You’re looking for a syringe or injector called ‘Odolbos N.’
TerraGroup Trail, Part 3
The Therapist sends you to Prapor, and it’s back to the Lighthouse. You need to find a laptop at the Water Treatment Plant, and it can spawn in one of three areas. All possible spawns are close to each other but involve open areas — move with intent while scrolling roads. You’ll need to check the top of the sandbags at (1), inside the portable latrine at (2), and under a crate in the red connex at (3).
TerraGroup Trail, Part 4
Part 4 brings the first encounter with a boss of this quest chain, with Sanitar. Prapor needs players to interrupt a meeting Sanitar is having with Goons on Shoreline. It’s close quarters, so it may be wise to bring CQB weaponry along with the standard long/mid-range weaponry needed for Shoreline. Players must kill either one goon, or Sanitar himself, in order to complete the conditions of this quest. The spawn is right around the location of TerraGroup Trail Part 1 in Tarkov.
TerraGroup Trail, Part 5 – 7
These quests take place entirely within the menus. After talking to Prapor, speak to the Mechanic to turn in this quest and receive Part 6. Give the Mechanic five physical Bitcoins, which can be found in safes, to continue to step 7. Step 7 has players needing to simply talk to the Therapist. The work continues in Part 8.
TerraGroup Trail, Part 8
This quest furrowed a few brows in the community on release. You’ll need to dress up as a Russian soldier and eliminate 10 Scavs on any open map except The Labs. For this to work, you’ll need a full RU-based loadout, from weapons to kit. A solid rule of thumb is to only use Prapor’s equipment, as he only sells Russian gear. You must have a helmet, body armor, chest rig, and weapon all equipped before completing this.
TerraGroup Trail, Part 9
The Peacekeeper tasks players with stashing pieces of noticeably expensive equipment in various maps for the bosses. You’ll need to following equipment:
- SP-8 Survival Machete for the Factory in the Pumping Station
- Desert Tech MDR 7.62×51 assault rifle for Customs in Dorm Room 302
- 2 EOTech HHS-1 hybrid sights for Woods in Sawmill Guard Post
- 2 Dan Jackiel whiskey for Interchange in the Revis Store
- GPNVG-18 Night Vision Goggles for Reserve at the Railroad Warehouse
TerraGroup Trail, Part 10
Time for a classic setup — we need to plant evidence that makes Sanitar look suspicious to the other bosses. You’ll need a VSS Vintorez 9×39 special sniper rifle for this part of the Escape from Tarkov TerraGroup Trail quest.
- Head to the car dealership in Streets of Tarkov.
- Kill 30 targets in that region.
- Once complete, plant Sanitar’s Bag on the second floor, near Kaban’s office.
- Keep an eye out for Glukhar and his 5 bodyguards, as they tend to stay near the LexOs vehicle dealership.
TerraGroup Trail, Part 11
You won’t be able to complete this quest if you’ve already completed Network Provider, Part 2. If that mission has already been completed, the Mechanic will note it, and the quest chain skips this segment entirely. This mission tasks players with going to the Lighthouse and planting 4 radio repeaters, purchased from Mechanic, across the map. Work slowly, planning your route based on initial spawn and audible contact as you progress.
TerraGroup Trail, Part 12
Similar to Part 11, this quest can be completed via a different quest, not in Tarkov‘s TerraGroup Trail quest chain. Thus, if players have already completed Knock-Knock, this quest will automatically complete with dialogue from the Mechanic. Regardless, it’s straightforward, as you must bring items to clear this quest. Players will need to turn these items in to the Mechanic:
- Piece of plexiglass
- Insulating tape
- Military circuit board
- Military COFDM Wireless Signal Transmitter
TerraGroup Trail, Part 13
This segment requires flashing the Transmitter to tune it at the Intelligence Center of the Lighthouse. More locations to explore in TerraGroup Trail of Tarkov. Find the V4 Flash Drive, flash it, then offer it to the Mechanic. Check the greenscreen room, on the bench and floor, to find this item. Then, a quick trip to the Lighthouse itself is in order. The Lighthouse can only be accessed with the Transmitter in hand, which will block the claymores from detonating.
TerraGroup Trail, Part 14
The second-to-last piece of the quest chain involves The Labs and expensive keycards for use inside The Labs. You’ll thus need to acquire both the TerraGroup Labs keycards (Green) and (Black) to complete this task. You’re searching for Reagent Containers 1, 2, and 3.
TerraGroup Trail, Part 15
With a full-scale inter-faction war breaking out, you must move through three maps to decrypt data. The maps are Woods, The Lab, and Lighthouse. Before beginning this part, players will need to find the TerraGroup Labs manager’s office room key, then attempt the quest.
Woods
There are two USB devices within Woods that need to be picked up from the Scav Bunker on the northwest part of the map. Players should be extremely cautious, as the area is often populated by Scavs and players alike, and the dense tree line interferes with visuals. This is the last time you’ll need these.
The Labs
The Lab needs no introduction — it’s nefarious in both difficulty and frustrations alike. You’re aiming for the manager’s office on the second floor. Therefore, be aware that a large section of the can engage with players inside this room. Try staying prone, use smokes if necessary, and decrypt the PC located in the office to complete this part.
Lighthouse
One final decryption is necessary, and of course, it’s in a hot zone of the Lighthouse. Aim to approach the Chalet from the west for better oversight of windows and enter through the south. The office location is on the first floor, and you’ll find a Labs laptop near an audio recorder — the same place as Part 11’s Chalet.
