First, it is worth noting that the Vertical Anomaly quest is available to players at least level 70. It is the only requirement, after which you can go to the central part of Zaralek Cavern and find NPC Myrrit. Talk to him and choose the Let’s Go Sniffenseeking [Begin Dig] option. You jump on Myrrit’s back, after which he will dig underground and start the Vertical Anomaly quest. And here’s what you need to do to complete it:

  • After arriving at the desired location, you should kill three Empowered Wyrmlings. They are pretty weak, so it’s pretty easy.
  • Next, take Myrrit on your shoulder and interact with the hatch in the middle of the cave. The white glow will direct you to a purple crystal on the right side of the cave.
  • Approach the crystal and press 1 to dig underground. Dig under the crystal and press 2 to crawl out of the ground and destroy it.
  • Next, go to the left side of the cave and destroy the second crystal.
  • Go back to the hatch in the center of the room and click on it to activate it. Remove NPC Myrrit from your shoulder before continuing.
  • Once you activate the hatch, it will turn red, and the geyser on the right side of the cave will begin to erupt. A water bubble with a chest will appear above the geyser.
  • Now enter the water bubble in the middle of the room and swim up.

  • Wait until another smaller bubble line up with the bubble above the geyser. After that, quickly swim to the flying chest.
  • Open the chest and take the Waterlogged Key.
  • Go down to the chest in the water bubble in the center of the room and open it with the new key. You will receive the Vertical Anomaly and complete the quest.

After that, exit the bubble and go to the tool pot to summon Myrrit. Interact with him to select the ladder at the bottom of the screen and return to Zaralek Cavern.
