To start Walton’s Treasure Hunt, you need to free the Lost Woods from Ganondorf in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. To do this, you need to get inside the Deku Tree and go down through the Chasm into the Depths. There you need to defeat the Gloom Hands and Phantom Ganon. After that, Korok Forest will become a safe place again, and the Deku Tree will feel much better. Also, Korok Seeds can now be exchanged in the Deku Tree.

Now that you have destroyed the Gloom Hands and Phantom Ganon, you will be able to see many Koroks near the Deku Tree that have quests for Link. Most of them will be down below the tree, but to start Walton’s Treasure Hunt, you’ll need to get to the top of the Deku Tree. You can get there just by climbing it, but it’s better to use the Ascend ability. To do this, go inside the tree to where the Chasm was. Now you have found Walton, and he will give you the Walton’s Treasure Hunt side quest.

He will tell you that he has hidden three items near the Deku Tree: Shield, Spear, and Sword. When you bring them to him, he will ask you to rate how hard it was for you to find them. But first, it’s better to make room for the quest items, and the giant Korok Hestu standing below the Deku Tree will help you with this. It can increase the number of weapons and shields you can carry with you.

The first two items are not difficult to find, although Walton only said that they are located above the Deku Tree’s face. According to Walton, there will be bark sticking out at the top of the tree at coordinates 0415, 2174, 0242. That’s where the Forest Dweller’s Sword was stuck.

The spear is also close to Walton and easy to find. It is located at coordinates 0405, 2195, 0229, directly opposite Walton behind a large branch.

When you find the first two items, bring them to Walton and tell him if it was hard to find them. After that, he will ask you to look for the last item, which is the Forest Dweller’s Shield.

The last item is located a little further than the previous items, at coordinates 0419, 2155, 0156. To find the shield, go down to the room where there is the Chasm and several Koroks where you can buy various goods. There you will see the entrance to the Deku Tree’s naval, but don’t go in. There will be a Forest Dweller’s Shield above the door in the left corner. Take the shield and return to Walton.

When you bring the shield to Walton, he will ask you again if you had a hard time looking for it, and after answering, you will receive a well-deserved reward. This reward is the Forest Dweller’s Bow with an attack power of 15 and the ability to shoot three arrows at once. You can also keep the items you were looking for. The sword has an attack power of 7, and the spear has 6, but they have their own features. Forest Dweller’s Shield has no special features, but its defense power is 30, and it is a very good option, especially against lightning.
