The only way some of your other companions can learn Bug Buzz in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is if you craft TM162. Like all TMs, though, you have to find it first out in the world and then head to a Pokémon Center to craft it. We’ll highlight the move and what you need to make the TM. Also, we’ll address how you can unlock it in the first place if you have yet to gain access to it.

Unlock TM162 Bug Buzz in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

How to Craft TM162 Bug Buzz in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet - Locations
South Province (Left) | North Province (Right)

Bug Buzz is a good Bug-type move that deals with a sound wave to cause damage. Before you think about crafting TM162 Bug Buzz, you must unlock it. Thankfully, there are three different ways you can unlock this TM in the game.

For the first two methods, check the Overworld. Specifically, head to North Province (Area Two) or East of Alfornada (South Province Area Six). We’ve highlighted the areas on the map in the above image, with South Province on the right and North Province on the left. Now, if you’re ready to find TM162 Bug Buzz to craft in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, let’s get to these areas.

In North Province (Area Two), the yellow Poké Ball is behind a large boulder. Meanwhile, in South Province (Area Four), you’ll do some climbing before you can reach the TM. It will be found in the shade under a large tree.

As we mentioned though, this is not the only way to find TM162. Like some other TMs, it unlocks as a reward after defeating a gym. Specifically, Team Star Fighting Crew. They are found in North Province (Area Two). If you want to unlock access to craft TM162 Bug Buzz in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, we only recommend this option if you’re ready. Be at least Level 55 to take this challenge on.

Once done, Eri will reward you with TM167 Close Combat in addition to unlocking other TMs in the TM Machine. This includes TM162 Bug Buzz.

No matter which method you used to unlock it, once you have it, head to any Pokémon Center and get to crafting. Of course, you will need the right materials and League Points to do so:

  • 10,000 LP
  • x3 Venonat Fang
  • x5 Kricketot Shell
  • x3 Combee Honey

For Venonat Fang, defeat Venonat or Venomoth. Check out their locations below:

Venonat

  • Tagtree Thicket
  • East Province (Areas One, Two)
  • North Province (Areas One, Two)

Venomoth

  • Casseroya Lake
  • The Great Crater of Paldea
  • Tagtree Thicket
  • East Province (Areas One, Two)
  • North Province (Areas One, Two)

Next, to craft TM162 Bug Buzz in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you need Kricketot Shell. This comes from Kricketot or Kricketune. You can only find Kricketot in North Province (Area Two) or South Province (Area Two). Meanwhile, Kricketune is only in North Province (Area One).

Lastly, you need Combee Honey from Combee or Vespiquen. They’re found in the following areas:

Combee

  • Asado Desert
  • East Paldean Sea
  • Los Platos
  • North Province (Area Three)
  • South Province (Areas One, Two, Four)
  • West Province (Area One)

Vespiquen

  • Glaseado Mountain
  • North Province (Areas One, Two, Three)
  • South Province (Area Six)

Now that you have everything, you can craft TM162 Bug Buzz in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet for several companions.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is available on Nintendo Switch.
