If you think you can advance through N’Erud easily, then think twice because even if this is the second time you venture to this planet, the game’s rules have changed. Amalgam Kel’Roth is a formidable enemy boss that belongs to Remnant 2: The Dark Horizon DLC, but it doesn’t come alone because you must also defeat Amalgam Relis. So, you must analyze your build in depth to get a slight chance of beating these two aberrations of metal and flesh, at least if you want to make it to the end of N’Erud’s story.
Where to Find the Amalgam Kel’Roth and Amalgam Relis in Remnant 2?
You will find the Mucid Terrarium among the dungeons included in The Dark Horizon DLC. This area has much of the same desolate spaceship/laboratory-style architecture but is filled with terrariums with colorful, unknown plants in some areas. As you go deeper into this dungeon, you will inevitably end up facing the Amalgam Kel’Roth boss. To advance, you must defeat this enemy as it is not optional and can be challenging as its attacks are blunt. This is the best way to beat this hybrid monster:
- The first boss to appear will be Amalgam Kel’Roth, and as soon as the fight starts, it will rush against you with a strong tackle. You’ll be fine just evading, but it’ll try to do it more times in the fight.
- Kel’Roth uses its powerful non-mechanical arm as a whip. When it is about to use this attack, it keeps its arm around its body, charging for a few seconds. Take the opportunity to move away.
- Also, this boss can make its arm explode. You will see it raise its organic arm and make a golden orb; keep your distance to run from the wide shockwave.
- Kel’Roth can summon a path of lightning in your direction, but it’s always to the front; dodge it by moving far away or to the side. Be careful not to be in the narrowest part of the arena, or you won’t have room to dodge.
- When Amalgam Kel’Roth makes a turn, it can summon a mini tornado. This one is easy to evade, but it will make several more right away.
- Try to lower Amalgam Kel’Roth’s HP as much as possible before his second phase, when he summons Amalgam Relis. This will happen when Kel’Roth floats on the purple waste around the platform he is fighting on. Kel’Roth will charge up for a moment, and then Relis will appear.
- Be careful when any of the Amalgams are floating high because they can drop down hard towards you at any moment.
- During the second phase, Relis will summon a purple “wave.” This one can be dodged to the front, but more will come later.
In the second phase, the combat will be faster and more frenetic, and both bosses will share attacks. In general, try to keep your distance from the Amalgam Kel’Roth and Relis, and also evade the narrowest spaces on the platform to prevent losing escape routes.
Once you defeat this boss, you will get the Voidlight Core, a Crafting Material necessary for Ava to create Voidlight Weapon Mod. This Mod launches a projectile that absorbs damage and, after a while, explodes, splitting into 5 parts; each one will do additional damage to the surrounding enemies. So you can say that the Voidlight works similarly to the Helix Weapon Mod and is also ideal for dealing with several enemies simultaneously.
