As you venture through the Sky Islands in Tears of the Kingdom, you might encounter a circular platform with a Flux Construct you must defeat. These Flux Constructs can deliver powerful blows, so it’s essential to have a selection of meals ready in your inventory. Sharpen your culinary skills alongside your sword and concoct some Elixirs that enhance your speed, allowing you to gracefully evade the Constructs’ attacks. Fighting regular Constructs can be intimidating enough, so this behemoth definitely represents a threat in battle. Still, it’ll all be fine as long as Link is suitably prepared and you learn the enemy’s movements in combat.

To defeat Flux Constructs, you must target the illuminated Cube that houses the Construct’s Core, which serves as its power source. To achieve this, you must patiently await the Construct’s attacks, as each attack reveals the Cube in distinct regions. Your task is to locate and strike the glowing Cube before the Construct is prepared to launch another attack.

Flux Constructs Phase 1

Ground Pound

Flux Construct will advance toward you and forcefully slam its fists into the ground to crush you. To avoid this melee attack, dodge when the Construct raises its arms, and maintain a safe distance to avoid being harmed by the resulting shockwave.

After its smash attack, the Construct’s fists will temporarily be immobilized on the ground. Take this opportunity to position yourself facing the front of the Construct and use the Ultrahand to grab the glowing block on its left knee, extract it, and cripple it. This is your chance to strike the exposed glowing weak point and deal some severe damage.

Hovering Propeller

The Flux Construct will levitate above you and pursue you across the platform for the Floating Rectangle attack. It will then extend a row of its Cubes and propel them in your direction. Make sure you are able to dodge this attack to avoid some major damage.

Your best bet is to allow the Construct to launch its line of bricks towards you, then swiftly move behind the line of bricks and beneath the rectangle while the Construct recharges itself. From there, use Ultrahand to extract the glowing Cube from the center and attack it again.

Cube Form

While in its massive Cube form, Flux Construct will move across the platform and attempt to crush you. Keep dodging this attack until the Cube rolls over. Then, you can uncover the glowing block on one of the edges in the middle row of the Cube’s side.

While dodging the Cube, use the Ultrahand tool to free the glowing block and disable the Construct. You have another opportunity to strike its weak spot and deplete the Flux Construct’s health in Tears of the Kingdom.

Flux Constructs Phase 2

Ground Pound 2.0

When the Tears of the Kingdom Flux Construct reaches 50% health, it will reuse its initial attack faster, and the position of its weak point will change. Time to eat a meal and a speed-boosting Elixir if your health is low at this point.

The Construct will move towards you and again pound its fists into the ground. When it is stationary for a brief period, sprint towards it and face the Construct.

Cube Form 2.0

This particular attack presents a greater challenge than the previous ones, and Flux Construct I tends to employ it when its health is nearly depleted. During this attack, the Construct will transform into another large Cube, but the glowing Cube will not be visible on the exterior. Instead, it is concealed within the center of the Cube.

Keep a considerable distance from the Cube as it moves about, and repeatedly employ the Ultrahand to seize the smaller Cubes and extract them. Continue this process until you locate the glowing Cube nestled in the middle.

Tears of the Kingdom is available on Nintendo Switch.
