Who is Heimdall?
Heimdall is the God of foresight and the son of Odin. He is a half-brother to Thor, Týr, and Baldur and is vigilant of the Aesir. Heimdall first appeared in God of War Ragnarok, but in the God of War 2018 game, Heimdall was Briefly mentioned. He grew up in Asgard and warned Aesir when Ragnarok happened. He rides a creature called Gultopper, a robust and formidable beast. Since he is the God of foresight, he can see everything in the Nine Realms and beyond. Also, this ability makes him one of the most powerful enemies in God of War Ragnarok.
How to Defeat Heimdall in God of War Ragnarok?
You can defeat Heimdall in God of War Ragnarok by using the Draupnir Spear that “the lady” made for Kratos. Defeating Heimdall has three stages. First, you must defeat Heimdalls’ beast Gultopper; Then there are two-phase defeating Heimdall.
Defeating Gultopper
- Avoid Gultoppers ‘ gallop attacks by using your shield.
- When attacking, attack from your side and use the Axe and Spear.
- Keep attacking until you deplete Gultoppers’ health, and a cutscene will play showing the death of Gultoppers.
- After the cutscene, Heimdall will be enraged, and the second phase of the battle starts.
Defeating Heimdall Phase 1
- In this phase, use Draupnir Spear and throw it at Heimdall. Press the Triangle button once the spear hits him, which will cause an explosion.
- Throw the spearhead near Heimdall and make the explosion. This will cause Heimdall to drop his health and eventually be Vulnerable.
- Once he becomes Vulnerable, you will be able to attack him freely. Once you have completed the first phase, a cut scene will play.
Defeating Heimdall Phase 2
- When Heimdal launches his unique ability, Realm Shift, he attacks you twice. You can’t block the first one. So jump out of the attack and Perry the second attack, which also gives you the ability to damage Heimdal.
- Use Spartan Rage against his Bifrost attack. It will help you to defeat Heimdall in God of War Ragnarok.
