This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

After surviving the perilous and long Dragon Temple in Metaphor: ReFantazio, Homo Margo will land on the shores of Vigra Island for a second bout. This time, however, the encounter is much more difficult and annoying due to a specific gimmick this boss possesses. However, with a bit of patience, the right Archetypes, and a lot of experimentation, you’ll be able to take it down with ease. So, buckle up because we have a quick guide to let you defeat this human.

Homo Margo Strategy

Homo Margo Boss Fight

To understand how the Homo Margo fight works in Metaphor: ReFantazio, you should know that this boss’ mechanic works on a two-turn basis. Every two turns, Homo Margo, will change its affinities, meaning that an element that worked before won’t be useful in the next rounds. The same applies to normal attacks. This is especially annoying because one blocked hit will make you lose almost all your turn icons. However, there is one way to “cheese” the fight, as the younger generations say. Before we delve into anything, here’s what you need:

  • Protagonist: Commander/General Archetype. You need to be able to use an Almighty spell.
  • Eupha: Summoner. You can’t change her to any other Archetype.
  • Other party members: any Archetype works.

Since Homo Margo will change its affinities every two turns, you only need to spam Almighty spells, such as the Megido Synthesis Skill, which requires a Summoner in your party, and guess what? Eupha fulfills that requirement. However, there are other two party members you can use, so what can you do with them? Well, it seems Homo Margo prioritizes removing buffs from your party, so as long as you buff your party members with skills, Homo Margo won’t attack too often. If you do this, you can use the Protagonist and Eupha to spam Megido and trick the boss into “cleansing” your group from buffs, which will make the fight much easier.

I really don’t recommend focusing on trying to figure out which affinity the boss has at a given moment because it will make the fight more tedious. Instead, spam the Almighty and healing spells whenever the situation demands it.
