Saying Remnant 2: The Forgotten Kingdom has good boss fights would be an understatement. The team behind this game has designed encounters that are both frustrating and fun, with a mix of environmental hazards, new mechanics, and the same old combat. This DLC is a thrilling challenge. For those struggling with the Stonewarden boss fight in Remnant 2, we’ve prepared a few tips to help you turn this sturdy foe into rubble in a matter of minutes.
Remnant 2: The Forgotten Kingdom – Stonewarden Boss Fight Guide
If you were lucky enough to enter the Earthen Colosseum area in Remnant 2: The Forgotten Kingdom, then you should know the boss of this biome is the Stonewarden. Initially, it might seem like another construct made by Lydusa. And while it may be, this one has more gimmicks, a huge army of expendable soldiers, and some of the most annoying attacks that’ll frustrate even the best players. But worry not, because here’s a breakdown of the fight so you can see what awaits you.

Remnant 2: All Stats ExplainedFirst Phase
The first phase is pretty straightforward, and with all the enemies you’ve fought so far, it shouldn’t be hard to dodge a few of the attacks. Still, we’ve made a list of the moves you can expect the Stonewarden to perform during the encounter.
- Spinning Attack: If you’ve encountered any of the elite stone enemies, the Stonewarden pulls off an aerial attack as well. It’ll spin three times before landing with a huge hit on the ground. Dodge during the final spin.
- Dig Attack: During the fight, the boss will dig itself underground, follow the player with the highest aggro, and then pop up from the ground and attack the player. Dodge as soon as it appears from the ground.
- Lunge Attack: The boss will wind up an attack before charging with its spear toward you. Dodge as soon as it charges.
- Ranged Attack: The boss will float in the air and charge its left arm. It’ll then launch two waves of energy.
- Ground Slam: The Stonewarden will charge its right fist before slamming it on the ground, causing serious damage and a small AoE blast. Run away as it charges.
- 3-Hit Combo: The boss will attack three times with its scythe. This attack is exactly the same as the one the elite enemies have.
Second Phase
The second phase of the Stonewarden boss fight in Remnant 2 begins when it floats in the air and raises the arena. One of the walls on either the left or right side will open. This brings a new environmental mechanic.
- Statue Rush: When one of the walls opens, you’ll see a bunch of statues lined up. The gimmick here is that you must find a gap between the statues. Since the statues will rush toward you, you need to position yourself so that none of them hit you. Do this until the three rows of them charge at you and then run to the back of the wall. Since the statues explode, the easiest way to dodge the explosions is by running to the back and sticking to one corner that doesn’t have any of these rocky bombs. After that, the other wall will open, and the mechanic will work the same.
Overall, the fight isn’t too challenging, but it can get hectic if you forget about the environmental mechanic. Still, I feel it is one of the most original encounters in the game, and beating this sturdy foe rewards you with the usual material and trait points. So, if you want to see everything in this dangerous dungeon, you should prepare your toughest equipment because you’ll have to crack a few rocks to progress through it.
