Atomic Heart is finally here, and it is only normal for players to try and tweak the game to hit that smooth gameplay spot. Contrary to consoles, PC offers many ways to customize the game’s graphics options, giving most gamers what they want. One of the things that has been a bit confusing to find though is VSync. This option, while it isn’t hidden, can take a bit of tweaking here and there to ensure it’s enabled. If you’re struggling with the frames or some screen tearing, don’t worry because today, we’ll tell you how to enable VSync in Atomic Heart.

How to enable VSync in Atomic Heart

Enabling VSync in Atomic Heart isn’t difficult, but it isn’t an option that is out there and easy to look at. To enable it, you’ll have to follow these steps:

  • Head to the ‘Quality’ tab in the Settings menu
  • Look for the DLSS Frame Generation option and turn it on
  • Apply changes and restart the game
  • After that, the option to enable VSync in Atomic Heart should appear

While the steps sound a bit convoluted, it is because they are. Most games usually have the VSync option right up there when you open the graphics options. It is weird that enabling VSync in Atomic Heart needs more steps, but maybe it’s part of the game’s design.

So far, the game has had good reviews, but following the trend of poor PC performance, Atomic Heart joins the ranks. We’ve seen the story with Forspoken, Returnal, Hogwarts Legacy, and Wild Hearts. While most of these games have it really bad on PC, Atomic Heart is sort of in the middle. It has some screen tearing and frame dips but nothing as bad as Wild Hearts right now. So, if you want to enable VSync in Atomic Heart, this is the way. Just make sure to explore all the graphics options that this game has and tweak them as you see fit. With a game focused on shooting and action sequences, it is important that you play as smoothly as possible. So, don’t be afraid to experiment before trying the fantastic combat this game has.

Atomic Heart is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
