How to Evolve Kirlia in Pokemon GO

This Pokemon goes two ways

Kirlia Evolutions in Pokémon GO
This article is over 3 years old and may contain outdated information.

Serving as the second member of the Ralts family, Kirlia is a Psychic- and Fairy-type Emotion Pokémon in Pokemon GO that possesses two possible evolutions — Gardevoir and Gallade. While Kirlia can be a formidable fighter in GO Battle Leagues with specific elements or low CP conditions, its evolutions stand undoubtedly as two of the best non-Legendary Pokémon for Psychic-, Fairy-, and Fighting-type pocket monsters. Accordingly, if you want to get your hands on these two excellent monsters, you will need to either defeat them as Raid Bosses or evolve them from Kirlia in Pokemon GO.

To evolve Kirlia into Gardevoir or Gallade in Pokemon GO, you must first procure the 100 Ralts Candies required for both evolutions. This Psychic- and Fairy-type pocket monster does not have any options regarding Trade-Evolving like Machoke. Giving Kirlia 100 Candies will evolve it into Gardevoir. However, additional conditions must be met for the Emotion Pokémon’s Gallade evolution.

Kirlia’s evolution into Gallade in Pokemon GO requires the same 100 Candies as Gardevoir, but you also need to ensure that your Kirlia is a male and give it a Sinnoh Stone. To get a male Kirlia, you must catch any Wild Kirlia you encounter or defeat one in a Gym Raid. Nevertheless, it is impossible to know if the Kirlia you have acquired is male or female until you are able to inspect it in your Pokémon Storage. The gender symbol for the pocket monster will appear to the right of its HP bar, above its Height. If your Kirlia is a male, you can move on to fulfilling the second requirement of acquiring a Sinnoh Stone in Pokemon GO.

You can acquire Sinnoh Stones for Kirlia in Pokemon GO via several methods. One way is by defeating Team GO Rocket Leaders, such as Cliff or Sierra, who will occasionally drop an Evolution Item after being beaten. Sometimes, the rewards received from winning matches in GO Battle League also grant Sinnoh Stones. You might also receive these stones from limited-time Special Research Tasks. Finally, achieving a Weekly Research Breakthrough has a chance of rewarding you with Evolution Items, including the Sinnoh Stone.
