Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask DLC adds both new creatures native to the Kitakami region and returning Pokemon. If you’ve been waiting to own a Koffing, finally you can do so in this expansion. Sadly, the fancy, top hat-wearing Galarian Weezing is nowhere to be found. This Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask guide will help you locate where to catch and evolve a Koffing into a Weezing.

Before you can evolve a Koffing in The Teal Mask DLC, you need to catch one first. The gas bag Pokemon can be easily found near the Crystal Pool area on the Oni Mountain summit. Head to the center of the Kitakami map and you should arrive at the Oni Mountain. But instead of going to the summit, head to the western part of the mountain. Around here, Koffing, Geodude, Spoink, and Chingling often spawn.

Koffing Stats (at Level 50 range):

  • Type: Poison
  • HP: 100 – 147
  • Attack: 63 – 128
  • Defense: 90 – 161
  • Special Attack: 58 – 123
  • Special Defense: 45 – 106
  • Speed: 36 – 95
  • Ability:
    • Levitate: Immune most Ground-Type moves except Thousand Arrows, trap moves, and terrain effects. Ability will be neutralized during Gravity, holding an Iron Ball, caught Ingrain, or hit by Smack Down and Thousand Arrows.
    • Neutralizing Gas: Suppresses other Pokemon’s Abilities.
  • Hidden Ability: Stench – Has a low chance of making an enemy flinch when hit. Lowers the chance of encountering a wild Pokemon by half.

In all Pokemon games, Koffing will evolve into Weezing at Level 35. But most base Pokemon in The Teal Mask DLC will spawn at Level 50 and up instead. Since you encounter this Pokemon a bit later, it will even appear at around Level 65. Not to worry, though. That means in The Teal Mask you need only to level up the Koffing once and it should evolve into a Weezing.

Weezing Stats (at Level 50 range):

  • Type: Poison
  • HP: 125 – 172
  • Attack: 85 – 156
  • Defense: 112 – 189
  • Special Attack: 81 – 150
  • Special Defense: 67 – 134
  • Speed: 58 – 123

That’s all there is to catching and evolving a Koffing in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask. Stay tuned for more coverage and guides on Pokemon and Nintendo games at The Nerd Stash.
