If you want to evolve your Yungoos into Gumshoos in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you must know what conditions the Pokémon will need. Many Pokémon only evolve through very specific and often risky methods like trade evolutions. Others evolve once they have a specific item in hand. Yungoos, thankfully, is not that complicated to evolve. When you’re ready for this angry little mongoose to stand on two legs, check out our Yungoos evolution guide.
Evolve Yungoos into Gumshoos in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
The Normal-type Pokémon Yungoos features a rather simple evolution process. You’ll walk around with them for some time before you reach the threshold for their evolution. To evolve Yungoos into Gumshoos, you simply must have Yungoos reach Level 20 during the Day. It’s as easy as that. An in-game day takes just over half an hour, so once you’re close to that level, it won’t take you much time to evolve them.
You can still evolve Yungoos into Gumshoos in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet if you reach that level at Night. All you have to do then is wait until Day and level Yungoos up to Level 21. The evolution will trigger then.
In your effort to evolve Yungoos to Gumshoos in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, note that the level grind might take time. The wild Yungoos you catch tend to be low-level. So, reaching Level 20 can be daunting at first. However, you can always use some EXP Candies to quicken the process.
In general, Yungoos isn’t touted as the strongest Pokémon. They are reliable, nonetheless. Still, it’s more helpful to evolve Yungoos into Gumshoos for them to have a greater impact in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Take a look at the difference in stats between Yungoos and Gumshoos in the table below:
Stats | Yungoos | Gumshoos |
HP | 48 | 88 |
Attack | 70 | 110 |
Defense | 30 | 60 |
Special Attack | 30 | 55 |
Special Defense | 30 | 60 |
Speed | 45 | 45 |
As you can see, the only thing constant between Yungoos and Gumshoos in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is their base Speed. Otherwise, it’s worth the level grind to get Gumshoos.
