While exploring the colorful beaches and underwater locations on Coral Island, you can find many different materials and items, one of which is the Fossil node. This ancient piece of stone may seem like a valuable piece of loot since it is a rare drop regardless of the mining method, but many players will be at a loss as to what to do with it. The good news is that Fossil nodes are nothing more than old caches that may contain dinosaur bones or valuable ores, which we call Fossils. Here is the best way to dig up some of these ancient treasures yourself.
Coral Island: Getting Fossils
(Updated on August 12, 2024 – updated links and formatting)
As we said, the only way to get Fossils in Coral Island is by processing the Fossil nodes. To do this, you only need to go to the city Laboratory and talk to Ling. During the conversation, select the Process Fossil Remains option and place your Fossil node in the cell, as shown in the image above.
If you can’t choose this option, donate 50 items to the museum, after which you will receive a Soft Bristle Brush and can process Fossils. Each processing fee costs 20 coins, after which you will receive one of many possible Fossils:
- Over 30 unique dinosaur bones
- Stone
- Bronze or Silver ore
- Bronze or Silver kelp
- Wild seeds
How To Get Fossil Nodes
If you want to find more Fossils Nodes, there are quite a few ways to do it:
- Clearing trash underwater with a Scythe.
- Breaking rocks on the island, underwater, or in caves.
- Processing ground and sand with a Hoe.
Among these methods, the most effective are processing sand on the beach and destroying rocks in caves. These methods will earn you a lot of Fossils if you are willing to spend some time and money on them.
How To Use Fossils in Coral Island
Depending on what you get from Fossils Nodes, you can use it in several ways. For example, you can use ordinary Stone for construction, and ores are helpful during crafting. But if you have accumulated several dinosaur bones, it’s worth visiting the city Museum and donating them. Unlike regular items, Fossils increase your Town rank by as much as three points. This means you can receive more valuable gifts from the Museum in gratitude.
