The open world in Tears of the Kingdom is very vast. You will spend dozens of hours exploring it and still be able to find something new. However, in the middle of the game, you can get a little bored running through the entire map doing quests. Therefore, you must unlock Fast Travel as early as possible. And you have to do it twice, once for Hyrule and once for Great Sky Island.

So, to unlock Fast Travel on Great Sky Island in Tears of the Kingdom, you must first complete The Closed Door quest. Then follow Rauru’s instructions to unlock Fast Travel in your Purah Pad. After that, you can quickly move between the Shrines on Great Sky Island.

To unlock this feature for the Hyrule lands, you need to start the Crises at Hyrule Castle quest. During this quest, you will learn more from Purah about Skyview Towers and how they can be used for Fast Travel.
