This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Garden Mantis lives exclusively in the Kilima Valley on the coast of the great Kilima Lake. Moreover, it spawns at any time of the day and can appear both in relatively distant grassy meadows and on sandy beaches in Palia.

While there is no best place to hunt Garden Mantis, we recommend starting your search in the southeastern part of the game map. Take the Whispering Banks estuary as your starting point and walk around the coast of Fisherman’s Lagoon. Next, head west and north towards Gillyfin Cove and look for green Garden Mantis.

It is also worth noting that Garden Mantis can appear in two ways:

  • In a random location in the wild of its habitats.
  • With a 5% chance when you collect Emerald Carpet Moss and Sundrop Lilies.

How To Catch Garden Mantis

Now that you know where to look for this insect, you should know how to catch it. You can use Standard Smoke Bombs, but in this case, you will have to work hard. You’ll probably have to make 3-4 well-aimed throws before you can pick up the Garden Mantis. But you can also use Sticky Smoke Bomb or Sneaky Smoke Bomb to speed up the process.

Having noticed you, this insect will jump in any direction and then stop for a few seconds. You should wait until it stops, after which you can throw a Smoke Bomb. We also advise upgrading your Belt as soon as possible to speed up the process and improve the quality of your catch.

As an Uncommon insect in Palia, Garden Mantis won’t be the most valuable trophy in your collection, but you can use it in several ways:

  • Sell it for 36 Gold or 54 Gold if you get the Quality version.
  • Give it as quest items or gifts to NPCs such as Jel, Elouisa, and Auni.
  • Place in a terrarium as a pet.
  • Use to get Spooky Bundle.

To sum it up, here’s what you need to know about how to get Garden Mantis in Palia:

  1. Location: Kilima Valley (Kilima Lake Coast)

  2. Spawning Time: Any Time

  3. Bombs: 3-4 Standard Smoke Bomb.
