Want to know how to get oil in Palworld 1.0? As you reach the late-game stages, crude oil becomes an essential resource for unlocking top-tier technology, weapons, and structures. But unlike basic materials, oil can only be found in select locations and requires an oil extractor to harvest. In this comprehensive guide, we’ll show you exactly where to find oil in Palworld and the step-by-step process to extract it so you can become a top oil executive with ease.
The Best Palworld 1.0 Crude Oil Locations

To begin the hunt for oil, you have to know what the nodes look like that allow you to extract it. While you’re traversing the world, preferably by air, look for dark black spots on regular terrain, exactly like the one pictured above. This means you are in striking distance of some oil. These are other steps required to start harnessing oil.
- Reach Technology level 50. This allows you to purchase Extractors.
- Merchants can also sell oil. Capture the Wandering Merchant to always have access at your base.
- Dumud drops oil when defeated/caught and actively produces High Quality Pal Oil when assigned to a Ranch. Digtoise & Kikits: Frequently drop 6–15 oil when hunted. (Farming packs of these yields quick results).
The Best Palworld Oil Location (-855, -455): Found on Mount Obsidian’s far western shore, this is the absolute best triple-node oil spot in the game. It is the only place where you can fit three natural oil nodes into a single base radius.
Oil Farm and Extraction
Finding a Palworld oil location is only half the battle. To actually harvest crude oil, you must build a Crude Oil Extractor directly on top of an oil deposit.
Crude Oil Extractor Crafting Recipe (Level 50 Unlock):
- Pal Metal Ingot x250
- Circuit Board x50
Because the extractor requires a massive amount of electricity, you will also need to build a Large Power Generator (unlocked at Level 49 via Ancient Technology for 200 Pal Metal Ingots and 200 Electric Organs). Once built, assign a powerful Electric Pal (like Orserk or Grizzbolt) to the generator to keep your automated oil farm running smoothly.
