In DREDGE, you will meet a character named Research Assistant in a Research Outpost in the Stellar Basin area. Troubled by a giant sea monster that wrecked everything in its path, she is going to need your help collecting fish samples in an attempt to study the said creature. To help her, you will need to catch three different fish, the Aurora Jellyfish, Firefly Squid, and Glowing Octopus. Here’s how you can find and catch Aurora Jellyfish in the Lovecraft-inspired fishing game DREDGE.

DREDGE – How to Find Aurora Jellyfish

How to Find Aurora Jellyfish in DREDGE

Aurora Jellyfish only spawns at the Stellar Basin at night time. But, unlike other fishes in the area that can be caught using a Rod or Crab Pot, you will need another tool to catch those Jellyfishes: a Trawl Net. To unlock the Trawl Net, you have to first Research it using Research Parts. Afterward, you will be able to buy the item.

Now with a Trawl Net in your hand, equip it and go to Stellar Basin during the night. Sail around near glowing jellyfish, and you are bound to catch one. A notification should tell you that the Encyclopedia has been updated with an entry on a new species when one has been caught. However, keep in mind not to sail too far into the middle part of the area; as the Research Assistant said, there is a huge sea monster residing there, and it can easily destroy your boat!

Meanwhile, here’s how you can catch the two other fish:

  • Firefly Squid:
    • Stellar Basin at night using a Rod at bubbling spots at the Disturbed Water area.
  • Glowing Octopus:
    • Stellar Basin at night using a Rod at bubbling spots at the Disturbed Water area.
    • Stellar Basin, leave a Crab Pot for a day or two.

If you have managed to catch all three fish — Aurora Jellyfish, Firefly Squid, and Glowing Octopus — head back to the Research Assistant at the Old Fortress to deliver them. She will ask you to sail to the Research Outpost nearby and grab Prototype Parts in order to create a Sampling Device that will let you fish in Abyssal waters. You can also temporarily go to the middle part of Stellar Basin and obtain a Relic for The Collector.
