Venturing into a new nation should always involve familiarizing yourself with the area, especially if it is as dangerous as Natlan, the region of fire. Even though there aren’t many enemies around, some Saurians will come after you when they see you near them. However, you should look for one specific one, the Gluttonous Yumkasaur Mountain King, a boss from Genshin Impact 5.0. Challenging this enemy will be crucial, at least if you want to level up characters like Kachina or Kinich. Before that, you must find its lair; reaching this boss won’t be easy.
Gluttonous Yumkasaur Mountain King Location in Genshin Impact
Natlan has very interesting topology with much verticality and several subway areas. So the easiest way to find this boss is by following these steps:
- Go to the Teleport Waypoint Tequemecan Valley in Natlan, next to the central river and the Ancient Watchtower.
- As soon as you appear, you will be looking toward the Stadium of the Sacred Flame. To your right will be a large crater with a waterfall. Jump into it.
- Inside the crater, there will be more waterfalls. Follow them to the bottom.
- You will reach a subway cave with a rock formation and some bubble plants above it, as well as another Teleport Waypoint. Go to that Teleport Waypoint.
From there, you will see the secret arena of the east boss of Genshin Impact and the Gluttonous Yumkasaur Mountain King sleeping peacefully, similar to the Jadeplume Terrorshroom’s arena in Sumeru.
How To Beat the Gluttonous Yumkasaur
Fortunately, this boss is quite slow due to its gigantic size, but this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be careful during the fight. The secret is to bring a Pyro character to face the Gluttonous Yumkasaur Mountain King in Genshin Impact. You must interrupt this Yumkasaur from eating fruit mid-fight, and you can only do it with fire. I took Bennett; using his Burst helped me because sometimes you have to attack three fruits simultaneously. However, it would be better for someone with Catalyst or Bow to make it faster or someone with AoD to burn all the fruits in one move.
Despite its slowness, you must watch the movements of this boss, especially when there is some distance, because then it will start spinning on its stomach at high speed. If you’re close to the Saurian, it will use its big tail to give you a vigorous hit; it can also turn quickly with the help of its round figure. In addition, like the other Yumkasaurs, this boss can also rise up using its tongue. When it’s about to unleash this attack, the Mountain King will hover in the air for a couple of seconds, and a marker will appear below it, similar to when the Pyro or Geo Slimes jump. Take advantage of this time to move away from the marker because it will make an attack in a medium area.
Defeating this Normal boss will give you Flamegranate Drop Overripe and Nagadus Emerald. This makes it particularly efficient if you’re farming materials for a Dendro character like Kinich. Also, this is a relatively easy enemy to defeat, and upgrading your characters won’t take long.
