Did Mayahisik Shrine’s location leave you wondering how to find it in Tears of the Kingdom? You might want to start farming shrines if you’re on the grind for Tears of the Kingdom’s heart and stamina vessels. One of the easiest ones to beat is Mayahisik Shrine: you just walk in, grab a treasure and speak to the Statues of Light at the end. But of course, the challenge to beating this Shrine lies not in the puzzle within it but in finding it in the first place. In this guide, we’ll explain how to find Mayahisik Shrine in ToK.

Tears of the Kingdom: Mayahisik Shrine Location

Mayahisik Shrine is located on the southeast surface, near Hateno Village, inside the Retsam Forest Cave. You’ll likely run into a quest to find this Shrine when unlocking the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab for Robbie. Unfortunately, if you haven’t unlocked it, you miss out on some awesome Purah Pad upgrades. So why not kill two birds with one stone?

Start your journey from the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab, turn left, and look at the valley with the apple trees. There’s a pile of breakable rubble blocking your path near the mountain. Fuse a weapon with a boulder — psst, there’s some to your left — and break the rubble to access the cave. Once your feet touch the ground, head forward and left to stumble upon the Mayahisik Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom.

If you haven’t unlocked this quest yet and want to get into the Shrine early, you can access the cave directly through Retsam Forest. Use Zanmik Shrine, Hateno Village’s teleporting device, as your starting point. Then, head northeast until you reach Hateno Pasture. Further east lies Retsam Forest, where the Deer Hunting minigame took place in BOTW. Before you reach the forest’s thickest portion, you’ll find a mini Satori guiding you to Retsam Forest Cave. Explore its depths to reach Mayahisik Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom.

Once inside, you’ll just have to walk directly toward the chest. Open its chest to get a Magic Scepter, and then make your way to the Statues of Light to grab the Light of Blessing.

How to Spot Caves

The easiest way to find caves is to offer fruit to a cherry tree. When you do, Satori will spawn and place a light marker on every cave location on the map for a limited duration. Take advantage of this feature to find Retsam Forest Cave and Mayahisik Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom.
