The task to search for the rare Arc Logic rifle comes with a taxing condition to find the Captive Cord in Destiny 2. The Essence of Failure quest requires you to complete several tasks like finishing several activities, scoring auto rifle kills, and finding the Captive Cord. While the first two tasks are relatively easy, there is very little you can do about the last one. The quest gives a hint saying the Captive Cord is hidden somewhere in Lunar Battlegrounds. However, it’s not enough to find the item and complete the task. Let’s see how we can simplify the quest and find the Captive Cord in Destiny 2.
Searching for the Captive Cord in Destiny 2
To make things simple, let’s start with the hint. Finding the Lunar Backgrounds is a little easier. Head to Sorrow’s Harbor by using the fast travel point from your map section. After reaching there, head towards the southeast exit and remember to cross the red bridge. Once you are through the tunnels, you will reach Lunar Backgrounds.
After arriving at Lunar Backgrounds, keep moving in a straight line until you reach a circular red platform. Start looking around until you find a split between two icy walls with stairs in them. That’s our next destination. Once you start moving toward the gap, you will face some enemies, including Acolytes and a Wizard. Try to fight your way through them and enter the gap.
Once you reach the destination in one piece, you will notice an enormous dome and a tall building with antennae and satellite dishes sticking out from the top. Next, try to scale the tall structure and get on top of it. After reaching the third floor, you will find the Captive Cord.
After completing the Captive Cord task, you will need to complete patrols, public events, or Lost Sectors on the moon and get 50 auto rifle kills to finish the Essence of Failure quest.
