This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

To unlock Climb Mode for one’s Koraidon and Miraidon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Trainers must find and defeat the False Dragon Titan. Tatsugiri serves as one of the five Titans that players must defeat on their adventure, specifically during the Path of Legends questline. Once this Titan has been subdued, Trainers will receive the ability to scale vertical walls while atop their Legendary Ride. This ability will enable players to reach spots in Paldea that would have otherwise been accessible. For instance, fans can climb up the side of The Great Crater to encounter a rare Garchomp flying around the rim of the massive chasm.

False Dragon Titan Tatsugiri Location in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

To find the False Dragon Titan in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, players must travel to Casseroya Lake, a large reservoir on the northeastern side of the Paldea world map. To reach this lake, players can start their trip from Medali and head northward across the river to Casseroya Lake. The ability to swim is unlocked by defeating Open Sky Titan.

After reaching the southern shore of Casseroya Lake from Medali, head to the Casseroya Watchtower No. 2 and begin swimming north to the small island ahead. Once players arrive, they will find a beached Tatsugiri near the island’s shore. Approach this pocket monster to initiate the first phase of the False Dragon Titan battle in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Game8 suggests that players make sure to stock up on healing items and ensure the Pokemon going into battle are at least Level 55 or higher. Moreover, Game8 recommends that players use Fairy-type monsters like Mimikyu for this battle. Dondozo and Tatsugiri will use a variety of Dragon-type Moves, meaning that Fairy-type Pokémon should be able to resist most of the attacks.

Combatants with Grass-type Movesets are also effective in the False Dragon Titan fight in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet because both of the protagonist’s opponents are of the Water-type element. The battle is split into two phases. After defeating this Titan, players can use their new Climb Mode ability by approaching any wall and pressing the B button, after which their Mount will cling to the wall and be able to climb upward.
