You have probably found caves full of water in the game but couldn’t explore them. You may have needed the necessary equipment to do so, and now you must know the location of the rebreather in Sons of the Forest. This item is one of the most essential tools in the game, like the shovel, the axe, or the pickaxe. Besides, you must have it to advance the primary history mission. Also, you can lose other precious objects if you don’t have the rebreather. On the island, there are many places where you have to dive to find those valuable treasures.

Sons of the Forest: Rebreather Location and How to Get It

Curiously, the location of the rebreather is very close to the place where you had the accident in your helicopter. This is the same incident at the beginning, which makes you stranded in Sons of the Forest. Look for a cave on the beach to the northwest, near the shore with the forest. But before you go to look for the rebreather, you need to find the axe, and it is better if you have some light source like a torch or flashlight. When you have everything you need, you must follow the following indications:

  1. Approach the cave entrance and use the axe to break the wood.
  2. Enter the cave and have your torch or flashlight handy because the cave is very dark. You will find other items inside the cave.
  3. Follow the cave path; there will be parts with enemies, but you can run away from them.
  4. There will be a minor climb with more enemies. Ignore it and follow the path down to the left. You will find a trail of life jackets floating down the path.
  5. You will come to a vault of stalactites and stalagmites. Try to follow the middle path to where a pile of stalagmites is in the middle.
  6. Then go to the right; on the right side, a small entrance will be on the left. Enter in it.
  7. Keep walking along the passage until you reach a lake. There will be more items and corpses.
  8. Walk along the right side of the cave. The rebreather will be a dead end on the left side, near the lake’s edge.

You must always change the air tank when the air supply runs out. But once you get the rebreather, you can go to the location of other important items in Sons of the Forest, like the shovel, the mining pickaxe, or the golden armor. Besides, with the rebreather, you can complete some of the main quests to get some of the game’s endings.
