In Baldur’s Gate 3, you will come across many missions, from the main storyline to less important side quests. Despite this, side quests can be just as exciting, and often tell rather unique stories. One such side quest, in particular, has you hunting for a pair of missing boots. Without further ado, here’s how to find Thrinn’s missing boots in Badlur’s Gate 3.
How to Get the Missing Boots Quest in Baldur’s Gate 3
Before you can start the quest, you’ll need to get it. To achieve this, go to the following coordinates: X:20; Y:-195. It’s not far from the Underdark Beach waypoint, and here you can meet the Duergar overseer. After talking to him, you will learn that someone has stolen Sergeant Thrinn’s boots, which must be found and returned. From this point on, the quest will begin. Keep in mind that if you have Glut with you, it will provoke Duergar overseer, and he will be hostile to you. To avoid unnecessary conflict, select only one character and talk to him.
Find Thrinn’s Missing Boots
It is straightforward to find the thief, for this, you will need to go to the Myconid Colony near Spaw’s area at the following coordinates: X:100; Y:-100. It is northeast of Decrepit Village and when you arrive there, you will need to find the poisoned gnome Thulla, who will be lying near the mushroom, at the following coordinates: X:80; Y:-95. Looking at her, you will be able to notice the stolen boots that you have to complete the quest. There are several ways you can get them, namely:
- Just take off the boots and move on.
- Heal Thulla, after which she will give them to you.
The first option is quick but also quite sneaky and cruel. If you don’t want to leave a powerless Thulla, you can try to heal her, and we’ll show you how below.
How to Heal Thulla
It is not difficult to cure Thulla, and we have found three methods to do so, namely:
- Antidote: can be obtained by looting the corpse of Duergar enemies if you fought them.
- Restoration: Probably the best option if you have a Cleric in your team or other classes that have Lesser Restoration. Just use the spell on the poisoned Thulla.
- Antitoxin: You can find a lot of these by exploring the area, or by buying them from vendors.
After healing her, you will not only hear words of gratitude and receive boots but also learn more about the Ironhand clan, which was enslaved, and all those who were in it now work at Grymforge.
How to Complete Find the Missing Boots Quest
Now that you have made your choice and received the boots, you need to head to Grymforge and give them to Sergeant Thrinn. To accomplish this, you’ll need to return to Underdark: Beach waypoint and find the boat. Using it, you will be able to sail to the required location to visit Duergar’s base of operations.
When you get to the location, Morghal will speak to you and tell you to pay money if you want to proceed. Do not fall for this provocation and choose the next dialog option:
“I’m not giving you a single coin”
In this way, you will avoid unnecessary expenses and will not be harmed.
When you get inside, find Sergeant Thrinn in the main chamber, which is located at the following coordinates: X:-625; Y:-330. Upon entering, you will see that she is standing with several Deep Gnomes working on a cave-in. Talk to her and give the boots back. Sergeant Thrinn will be pleased with your work and, in gratitude, will give you the following rewards:
- Bracing Band: You gain a bonus +1 to Armor Class until your next turn after shoving an enemy.
- Armor of Uninhibited Kushigo: If the attacker misses, you can make an unarmed strike using your reaction while Patient Defense is active.
