Traveling across Vermund and Battahl can be a perilous journey in the highly-anticipated Dragon’s Dogma 2. It is a long, arduous affair crossing the massive open world, and while it’s great to explore on foot, hitching a ride is one of the game’s options. The Oxcart is one such mechanic, a slow taxi between villages and cities, but it’s still vulnerable to attacks. Here’s how to flip and fix an overturned Oxcart in Dragon’s Dogma 2!
How to Flip An Oxcart in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Simply walk up to an overturned Oxcart, and hold ‘B’ or ‘Circle’ to flip it in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
For the Halo fans out there, yes, it’s taking a page out of the Warthog user’s manual. It also means that the baseline strength for any playable vocation is enough to flip an entire cart. Even mages are Hulk-strong in this universe, and that’s a scary thought.
When Do Oxcarts Get Overturned in DD2?
This can happen during any point of an Oxcart journey, they’ll often be overturned when a large monster attacks. These are difficult to predict, but can roughly happen every ~1-3 journeys when you choose the “doze off” option. You can prevent this inconvenience by kiting enemies away from it, drawing its aggro into a more open space. It’s a worthwhile risk in exchange for a reliable means to get between cities in the game.
I’ve experienced the overturned cart situation several times, with at least one instance where the cart was outright destroyed. It’s inconvenient when overturned but serves as a good signal to drive the combat away from your vehicle. If you’re not careful, it’s a long walk back to the city, especially if you don’t have any ferry stones.
Alternately, if you’re desperate, don’t forget that if you die, you can choose to respawn at your last inn rest. This is a last resort though, as that would mean lost progress.
