  • How to Fix Bat Error Code in Destiny 2?

The Bat error code shows up in Destiny 2 when you’re least expecting it. Various factors can cause this error, so figuring out exactly what is making it appear can be challenging. Typically, it means there’s some sort of a network connection issue, but it’s not likely to be on your end. That said, it’s still rather frustrating to see, nonetheless. Let’s take a look at how to fix Error Code Bat in Destiny 2 so you can get back to the gameplay you’ve been waiting for.

What is The Bat Error Code in Destiny 2?

The Error Code Bat is a pretty tricky one to determine the full cause of in Destiny 2. Bungie describes the code as something relating to “General Network Issues,” but that can mean quite a few different things. Luckily, it’s almost always on Bungie’s end and they’re having issues with the game. This error code most often shows up around the time of a decent sized update that has some bugs that Bungie hadn’t quite accounted for before they let the update go live. You’ll likely see Bat error codes when you’re participating in an activity that requires a fireteam, like Onslaught or Crucible.

You can fix Bat Error Code in Destiny 2 by ensuring your internet connection is stable and reliable. Even though it likely isn’t your internet connection that’s causing it, it’s still a possibility.

  1. Update your network drivers: Your network driver plays a vital role in the stability of your connection, and updating it can be a great start to fixing any errors.
  2. Disable your PC firewall: Having a firewall enabled can cause interference with the connection between you and Destiny 2‘s servers. If you’re not comfortable with disabling your firewall, you can simply add Destiny 2 to your PC’s firewall whitelist so it won’t stop anything from happening when the game is in question.
  3. Reset your router: This can help to resolve any existing connection issues, and it can also help to reset your connection. This typically requires you to unplug it for a set amount of time, then plug it back in and allow it to set itself back up. The process often takes upwards of 10 minutes all together.
  4. Disable QoS (Quality of Service): QoS settings are used by some routers to prioritize specific traffic, but they can also interfere with your connection. If your router has QoS enabled, try disabling it as a potential fix.
  5. Restart your device: Sometimes the easiest fix can be the last one you think of. Be sure to restart your PC or console, then try to boot up the game again.
