Fix Error Code 8012 – Flush DNS Cache
For PC players, your issue might stem from corruption in a DNS cache. To fix this, you have to flush the DNS cache. Follow along with the steps below:
- Search “cmd” in the search taskbar on the computer.
- With the Command Box highlighted, select “Run as administrator.”
- In the box, type in ipconfig /flushdns and press the Enter button.
- When the command finishes, you should see “Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.”
- Reboot your PC and relaunch the game.
Fix Error Code 8012 in Dead by Daylight – Repair EAC
Like plenty of other PC games, Dead by Daylight uses Easy Anti-Cheat Engine (EAC). As the name implies, it prevents cheating and hacking in the game. However, you might not have this software installed. Or, if you do, it may be a corrupted installation.

- Open File Explore and find the Dead by Daylight folder on your PC.

- If you don’t have the software, select “Install.” If you do have it, then you will click “Repair.”
