Nightingale players might have experienced a few bugs here and there while trying to play this new survival crafting game. Nightingale just entered early access, so a few bugs here and there are expected while the game works out its launch. One of these bugs you might come across is the “Error Getting Shards For Client” bug. We’ll work out what this bug is exactly and how to fix it.
What is the “Error Getting Shards For Client” Bug in Nightingale?
If you open the game and receive the “Error Getting Shards For Client” message in Nightingale, this isn’t technically a bug. While the wording is confusing, it’s actually an indication that you’re having issues connecting to the Nightingale servers. Typically, this will happen when the game servers are undergoing some maintenance. In other words, if you get this message, you can assume that the game’s servers are down.
The wording is certainly confusing, and it’s unknown why the game displays server maintenance like this. For now, if you do receive this message, you can check out Nightingale’s official X page where they should post timely updates regarding their servers and any planned maintenance. Check to see if the game’s servers are down there before troubleshooting any part of your internet.
We haven’t tested to see whether or not this message appears if your internet is having issues connecting to the game’s servers. If you receive the “Error Getting Shards For Client” message in Nightingale and the servers are not down, check to see if your internet is working correctly or if any part of your PC may be influencing your connection to the game’s server, like a firewall. Hopefully, the devs can change the message to make the issue a little more clear in the future, but you can assume this message isn’t a huge deal for now.
