After arriving in Silent Hill, James will need to explore the empty streets of the Eastern South Vale. This town is completely empty except for monsters, and many areas will be blocked. At the end of this zone, you need to solve a Jukebox puzzle in Nelly’s Bar to progress Silent Hill 2‘s story. There are three items that you have to find, and all of them are scattered around the city. Some are easy to get, while others require a bit more work.
How To Solve Jukebox Puzzle in Silent Hill 2
To fix the Jukebox inside Nelly’s Bar, you need to find three key items. Before leaving, I suggest examining the item first so you can obtain the first half of the broken Vinyl Record.
- Jukebox Coin
- Vinyl Record
- Jukebox Button
Jukebox Coin Location
The easiest item to grab is the Jukebox coin, which is located inside Texan Cafe. You will technically get a clue about this inside the apartment, but you can immediately grab it. You head to the cash register, turn the key, and press the Enter button. It will give you the coin, but a monster will show up to attack you.
Vinyl Record Location
To obtain the complete vinyl record, you need to head up to Groovy’s Music Store on Neely Street. Be careful when walking inside since there will be two monsters in this building. Since the door will be locked, you have to destroy the glass window to enter the other room. There, you will find the other half of the record and a bottle of glue.
You can fix the vinyl record by combining the three items. Just open your inventory and then press the button to open the Combine menu. Select the three key items, and you will get the glued-up vinyl record.
Jukebox Button
The last item, the Jukebox Button, can be found inside a room in Saul Street Apartments. Your destination is on the upper floor, but the path is blocked. First, you need to head inside and follow these steps:
- Push the shelves on the first floor and enter the room.
- Read the note on the table and grab the key.
- Go back to the hallway and climb up the stairs.
- Enter Room 5 and pass through the hole in the wall.
- Pass through another hole and climb out to the balcony.
- Climb up the stairs and pass through an open window.
- Go to the bathroom and stretch your hand into the hole.
Once you have the three items, you can return to Nelly’s Bar and fix the Jukebox. First, you need to insert the vinyl record and then the coin. Lastly, press the C blue button and then insert the red button.
The Jukebox will play a song that will remind James of his late wife and progress the story. Unfortunately, the vinyl record will get broken afterward, but you will get the key that will open the door inside the bar. Progress through this area, and you will find a note that will tell you to find a greenish-blue car. There, you will find the key to the Wood Side Apartments, where you can encounter the Room 206 safe puzzle.
