If you started playing when the game was released in early access, you likely have wondered how to fix Starfield‘s audio cutting out during your gameplay. Bethesda’s made it a regular habit to have games with a few flaws when they first release but fix them soon after. Most developers need time to work through all the kinks in their games and patch them up before they’re in tip-top shape. Let’s take a quick look at how to fix Starfield Audio cutting out before you hop back into the game again. After all, why wouldn’t you want the best gaming experience possible?

Since Starfield‘s release in early access on August 31st, players have noticed some glitching and cutting out with the audio occasionally. Some people have reported that it happened to them while traveling through space, but we’ve experienced it in quite a few circumstances. Whether in a firefight, listening to some dialogue for an NPC, or wandering around, the audio seems glitchy.

There have also been some other issues impacting players’ gameplay in the form of pretty big frame drops, causing some severe lagging. While most of these issues can be fixed with some patching, tons of players take time off work and set aside valuable time from their other responsibilities in life, so coming up with a quick fix is necessary. However, some players have come up with some troubleshooting methods that have proven successful. Try out the following methods to make Starfield run smoother on your PC and fix the audio cutting out:

  • Try to move Starfield to an SSD on your computer if it is installed directly on your hard drive.
  • Whenever you play Starfield in non-fullscreen, try to disable Dynamic Resolution and enable Gsync.
  • In your settings, disable VRS, Motion Blur, and VSync.
  • Lower your graphics settings a bit; maybe your PC is just having a hard time trying to keep up.
  • If you have Starfield purchased through Steam, turn off Online Mode and run Starfield as an admin.
  • Update your PC’s drivers.
  • If all else fails, you can attempt to uninstall, then reinstall Starfield

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
