MLB The Show 23 has been live for a few months now, and the baseball franchise is ever so popular. Some MLB The Show 23 statistics, including a Hold, are very hard to complete. This particular statistic is related to relief pitchers and happens when you maintain a lead of three innings with one out. Baseball fans cherish statistics among special moves, and a Hold is one of the intriguing stats people get excited over. Here, we answer what a Hold is and how to get a Hold in MLB The Show 23.

A Hold in MLB The Show 23 is a statistic that shows how much a relief pitcher is capable of maintaining the team’s lead until the subsequent relief pitcher is on the field.

Relief pitchers are used especially in the last innings of the game and are also known as closers. These players are much different than other players, with a set of different skills and play styles.

How To Get a Hold in Baseball for MLB the Show 23

To get a Hold in MLB The Show 23, you need to bring in a relief pitcher in a save situation and maintain the lead until the next relief pitcher enters the game. However, another criterion is to record at least one out during this process.

To summarize what you need to complete this statistic:

  1. Your team needs to be in the lead that is less than three runs.
  2. After this is set, you will need to bring on one of your relief pitchers to the field.
  3. Now the hard part. Record one out without giving up the lead with the relief pitcher.
  4. Once you have achieved this, you can check the box score to see if a Hold was given to the pitcher. You can check it on the pitcher’s card as well.

This particular statistic can affect the ratings of the clutch, hits per nine innings, or even the confidence of your relief pitcher.

In the Diamond Dynasty mode, you will receive a mission to get three Holds in MLB The Show 23. This one is hard to complete. You will need to get a grip on several variables, including the number of pitchers you have left and the number of innings left in the game. It won’t be a problem getting one, but three is a demanding task. Nevertheless, awards are plenty and certainly worth the trouble.

MLB The Show 23 is available on PS5/PS4, Xbox One/Series, and Nintendo Switch.
