My Time at Sandrock has a pretty large map, but you can get a horse to get places faster. There are two different ways to get a horse: renting or buying, with the second option being more involved. Several other animals serve as mounts, like Camels and Yakmels. Mounts come in different rarities, complete with stats like speed. Here’s everything you need to know about getting a Horse in My Time at Sandrock.
How to rent a horse or mount
The option to buy or rent a horse in My Time at Sandrock becomes available after repairing the stage as part of the main quest. Elsie sends you a letter starting the side quest Learning to Ride Lessons. Completing this side quest unlocks renting a mount from the Mount Shop, located east of the train station. This side quest can expire, but the Mount Shop opens regardless if you complete it.
After unlocking the Mount Shop, you can rent a mount for a week, with the cost ranging from 200 to 1,000 Gols, depending on the mount. Mounts rotate weekly. Your Rented mount will return to the shop at night. To buy a Mount, you will need a stable, which is a bit more involved.
How To Buy a Horse in My Time at Sandrock
To buy a horse or other mount, you need to build a stable. Stable’s can be built by visiting the Construction Junction store near City Hall. There are three requirements for building a stable, which will require you to progress a decent way into My Time at Sandrock. First, you need the materials, 10 Hardwook Sticks, five Steel Bars, and five Rubber Shells. Second, you need 1,000 Gols.
The third requirement is the toughest. The stable requires a 12×9 space on your property, which is about as large as your starting area. This means you need to upgrade the size of your workshop several times to have the space required. Once you do have a stable at your workshop, you can buy a horse or other mount at the Mount Shop. You can also continue to rent a mount if you choose, with the mount now staying at your stable at night.
