We all want shiny things, even more so if it’s a Pokémon. Learn how to get a shiny Charizard in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet with this guide.

The Charizard event gave us no opportunities to have a shiny Charizard show up because it was completely locked in. Of course, some people may like that, but others don’t. Well, the simple solution is to breed your Charizard to get a shiny one.

In this guide, I will show you the best way to get a shiny Charizard and how to increase your chances. The best Pokemon you can use to breed with the Charizard you got from your Tera raid event.

Alternative Ways to Get a Shiny Charizard in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

  1. Breeding a Ditto with a Shiny Charm

You could use this method to get a Shiny Charizard in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but chances are low.

The most common way people will start breeding is by using regular Ditto. But unfortunately, the chances of you getting a shiny Pokemon from that are under one out of 4096. That’s not so hot. On the other hand, you might be there forever, breeding your Pokemon.

The second option is to use that Ditto with a Shiny Charm. And that’s going to only get you a one-at-a-2048 chance. Not so hot either.

The third way to get a Shiny Charizard in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will be with the Masuda Method. This one’s my favorite one. All you need is basically a foreign Ditto. By the way, when I say foreign, I mean the game has to be in a different language than yours.

You can even make a separate profile by catching certain Pokemon in a different language to pull this off.

Use dragon Pokemon for breeding with your trainer. A cool part about the Masuda Method is that it is one out of 683 Chance, which is very low, without even a shiny charm. Still, if you add the shiny charm to that, you will have about a one out of 512 chance of getting it shiny.

Now, if you want to take this further and breed the most perfect and optimized Charmander or Charizard.

Luckily, the whole process gets simplified if you have the Charizard Pokemon from the event.

It took me over 600 eggs to finally get a shiny Charizard in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, which I was pleased about. What are you waiting for to get yours?

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is available on the Nintendo Switch.
