This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

While exploring a facility, you need to see where you are going to avoid a mine, a monster, or just to spot a scrap item. The usual right-click scanner is not enough because it only illuminates the area for a moment, which makes the flashlight an indispensable item in your raids, and traveling without it is like going to certain death. You may not have a walkie-talkie, a weapon, or other useful items, but a flashlight is a must, so we’re here to help you learn more about it. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at how to get and use a Flashlight in Lethal Company.

Most of the items you will use during the game can be purchased through the terminal, and the Flashlight is no exception. There are 2 flashlights in the game that you can buy:

ItemCostBattery LifeEffect
Flashlight15 credits140 secondsIlluminates a small area with yellowish light
Pro-flashlight25 credits285 secondsIlluminates a much larger area with bright white light.

Making a purchase using the terminal is not difficult and will not take you much time, just follow these steps:

  • Go to the ship.
  • Go to the terminal, which is located in the part of the ship opposite the entrance.
  • Interact with it to open the interface by pressing the E button.
  • Now, you can enter commands, in this case, access the store by manually typing the word Store and pressing Enter.
  • The next step is to buy the item itself. To accomplish this, simply type the name of the item and the quantity you want to buy and press Enter. For example, “Flashlight” to buy one, or “Flashlight 4” to buy for the whole team. If you would like to buy a pro-flashlight, enter “Pro-flashlight” in the terminal accordingly.
  • Next, confirm the order with the Confirm command and press Enter again.

Once this is done, all you have to do is land on the planet and wait for another ship to arrive with your order. As soon as you hear the Ice cream Song, get out and head to the ship to pick up your order somewhere on the ground.

Using the flashlight is not difficult. First, add it to your inventory by interacting with the item by pressing the E key. Then, when you need to use it, simply press the F button to turn it on and off. When exploring a facility, don’t walk around with the flashlight on all the time, as the battery will run dry fast. Instead, use the tool at the most important moments or in darkened areas. Depending on the type of flashlight you use, you may illuminate the area more or less.

You can see the charge indicator in the upper-left corner of the screen, it looks like a yellow bar. If the flashlight is low, don’t worry or throw it away because it can be recharged. To do this, go back to the ship and look for a copper coil on the right wall. Next, take the flashlight in your hands and interact with it using the E button. Done, in almost 1 second it was fully charged, and you can go on an adventure again.
