To bring peace and tranquility to the sacred realms of Valheim, you will need the Ancient Seed to defeat The Elder boss. Although the Ancient Seeds only drop from some Greydwarf mobs, there are other ways to obtain it. So where exactly do these Greydwarf mobs spawn and from which Greydwarf mobs drop these Ancient Seeds? We have the answers for you.
How to get Ancient Seeds Valheim – Easy Method
Since you will need Ancient Seed as soon as you start the game, the starting point of the adventure will be the Black Forest. It is possible to get Ancient Seed drops by killing Greydwarf Brutes and Greydwarf Shamans in the Black Forest. However, you may not always find these mobs in the Black Forest.
Therefore, if you wander a little further in the depths of the Black Forest, you will see a spawner point called “Greydwarf Nest” with purple smoke. Greydwarf Shamans and Brutes have a 14% chance of spawning here. With the help of your friends, you can easily get the Ancient Seed you need in just 3-5 minutes on average.
In addition, it is quite possible to encounter ruined structures while wandering in the Black Forest. If you find chests in these structures, definitely check it out. These chests have a chance to contain Ancient Seeds.

How to Use Ancient Seed Valheim
Once you’ve gathered your resources, it’s time to explore the paths to The Elder. Read “Runestones” with red inscriptions as you wander through the Black Forest. When you read the correct Runestone to reach The Elder, the altar will appear randomly on your map. You may need a boat to get to the altar.
By the way, if you are very lucky, you can find the location of the The Elder without reading any Runestone. When you’re finally ready to fight, place Ancient seeds in the “Fire Bowl” located right in the middle of the altar. That’s it, here’s The Elder you have to kill to get to the next level.
It can also work in your favor if you prepare before facing The Elder. You can build a small base, put beds or practice. Some Valheim players place a dozen campfires around the altar. In this way, the Elder slowly burns to death while patrolling the area. If you protect yourself from The Elder’s creeper attack and keep shooting with the bow and arrow, you will soon be able to kill the boss. After The Elder dies, he will drop the “Swamp Key” that can be used to enter dungeons. With the Scrap Irons you get from the dungeons, you will be able to travel to the new exotic and mystical realms of Valheim.
