Sons of The Forest, the sequel to the deserted-and-cannibal-filled survival game The Forest, is now available to be purchased and played as a Steam Early Access title. Like in the previous game, you must use your wits and various tools to survive on the island. And the most important thing for survival, aside from food, is obviously clean water for drinking. To get some water, you will need Turtle Shells. Here’s how you can get the Turtle Shell in Sons of The Forest.

Sons of The Forest – How to Get Turtle Shell

In Sons of The Forest, you can encounter two types of turtles: sea turtles and tortoises. But Turtle Shells will only drop from sea turtles, which can be found on the beaches in the most western, northern, eastern, and southern parts of the island. Tortoises will not drop Shells. And keep in mind that they won’t always drop the Shells as well, so you might have to kill a bunch of these defenseless shelled reptiles.

Sons of The Forest – How to Use Turtle Shell as Water Collector

To use Turtle Shells, open your inventory with the I key, then look at the upper right corner until you find the item. Equip the item and then use them to collect water to ensure your survival on the island. Of course, since this is a survival game, always get clean water from rivers!

Considering there was a Rain Collector tool in The Forest, Turtle Shell might be part of the same material to make one sometime in the future. We’ll see if Endnight Games will add an update for a Rain Collector down the line.
