As you start pushing into endgame content in Diablo 4, you’ll need to know how to get Artificer’s Stones for The Pit. If you’ve played Diablo 3, The Pit is more or less like Nephalem Rifts—if not, just think of them as increasingly challenging dungeons. What makes them different from Nightmare Dungeons is that The Pit will grant the ability to upgrade your Paragon Glyphs. So, put your best build together and let’s go!
How to Get Artificer’s Stones in Diablo 4 Season 7
The good news is that Artificer’s Stones drop from numerous sources in Diablo 4, such as:
- Tortured Gifts
- The Tree of Whispers
- Legion Events
- World Bosses
- Nightmare Dungeons
- Infernal Hordes
- Undercity of Kurast
The bad news? You can’t get Artificer’s Stones until you’re level 60, which means grinding your way to max level in Diablo 4 first. To be fair, your Paragon Boards aren’t unlocked until level 60, anyway. You won’t even get to slot in your first Paragon Glyph until you’re a few Paragon levels in, too.
The method I like to use when I’m farming Artificer’s Stones is through Tortured Gifts and the Tree of Whispers. I head into a Helltide event, complete any Whispers in the area, then open up Tortured Gifts before the event ends.
With that method, you get to double-dip. Once you’ve gathered 10 Grim Favors from Helltides, you can hop on over to the Tree of Whispers and get even more. Rinse and repeat!
Where to Use Artificer’s Stones in Diablo 4
As I’ve said, Artificer’s Stones are specifically for The Pit, which you can find in Cerrigar (in the Scosglen region). It’s a dark obelisk near the town portal. Activating The Pit requires three Artificer’s Stones.
The goal is to finish the dungeon within 15 minutes, preferably without dying because doing so adds a time penalty to your run. In return for completing the dungeon, you’ll get the ability to upgrade your Paragon Glyphs and even earn new ones.
Ideally, you want to hop back and forth between The Pit and Nightmare Dungeons. The former is for improving your Paragon Board, while the latter is for farming Obducite, which you need for Masterworking.
