This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

When it comes to building blocks in crafting sims, it doesn’t get much more basic than actual blocks used for building. Bricks are a simple but vital early-game resource in My Time at Sandrock, but that doesn’t mean it’s obvious how to get your hands on them. Unlike Wood, Dregs, and other natural resources, you won’t find Bricks just lying around in the desert. Instead, you’ll need to construct a Furnace in which to turn Stone into Bricks. Thankfully, this is a simple process compared to some of the larger construction projects later in the game. Here’s everything you need to know about how to get Bricks in My Time at Sandrock.

Complete the New Builder and Build the Furnace

Like most manufacturing projects in My Time at Sandrock, getting Bricks starts with acquiring the proper crafting station. In this case, you’ll need a Furnace. Fortunately, you won’t need to trade Data Discs at the Research Center for this one. All you need to do is complete The New Builder mission to receive the blueprint from Yan. It’s part of the tutorial, so if you’re far enough into the game to be thinking about bricks, you’ve probably already completed it. Once you have the blueprint, constructing the Furnace requires the following resources:

  • Stone Trough x2 – Craft at the Worktable using Stone x12
  • Quartz x4 – Obtained by quarrying Gravel and Raw Minerals in the Eufaula Desert
  • Wooden Stick x2 – Crafted at the Worktable using Wood x6 or obtained by recycling Wood Scrap in a Recycler

Now that you’ve finished your preparations in My Time at Sandrock, it’s time to get some Bricks. Fortunately, this step is extremely easy. Just use the Interact button on your Furnace to open the menu, then select “Brick” from the list of options on the left side of the screen. Each Brick requires Stone x4 to make. Choose the number of Bricks you’d like to make, but don’t complete the construction order yet. Make sure the Furnace is loaded with fuel and that you have enough water to keep it powered. Then complete the order. In a few minutes, the Furnace will finish baking your Bricks, and you’ll be ready to get building.

How to Make Bricks with a Recycler

If you have a Recycler but no Furnace, there’s an alternative way to get Bricks. To do so, simply put Stone Scrap in a fueled Recycler and wait for it to finish processing. Although you aren’t guaranteed to get Bricks using this method, they’re a common drop, so if you have large amounts of Stone Scrap and only need a few Bricks, it’s a decent option. That said, if you need to mass-produce Bricks for a certain project, the Furnace method is far more reliable in My Time at Sandrock.

My Time at Sandrock is available for PC.
