Want to know how to get Cryogonal Ice in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet? As you progress through the Paldea region, you will have to collect a lot of TM crafting materials, and if you have Ice-type Pokémon in your team, sooner or later, you will need Cryogonal Ice. As the name suggests, you can get this material from the Cryogonal found in the cold areas of the Paldea region. And once your hunt is successful, you can create a couple of powerful TMs – Ice Beam and Blizzard. However, for starters, you should know how to get Cryogonal Ice in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and we will help you with this.

How to Get Cryogonal Ice in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

To get Cryogonal Ice in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you must defeat or capture Cryogonal in its habitats. Fortunately or not, there is only one place in the game where you will meet Cryogonal – Glaseado Mountain. Also, it’s worth noting that Cryogonal spawns relatively infrequently, so you’ll have to climb mountains for quite some time to meet at least a couple.

After you defeat or capture Cryogonal, you will receive 1 to 3 Cryogonal Ice. But before you go hunting, choose opponents based on the strengths and weaknesses of this Pokémon. Since Cryogonal is an Ice-type Pokémon, it is weak against Fire, Fighting, Rock, and Steel-type moves and takes 2x damage from these attacks. At the same time, you shouldn’t use Pokemon with Ice-type moves, as Cryogonal has resistance to this type of attack.

Although you can transfer moves from Pokemon to Pokemon with Mirror Herb, this method is quite expensive. In addition, you can use this item only once per Pokémon. At the same time, TM crafting is much cheaper and has no restrictions. So after collecting some Cryogonal Ice, visit the nearest Pokemon Center and use TM Machines to craft powerful Ice-type TMs:

TM135 (Ice Beam):

  • Shellder Pearl x3
  • Delibird Parcel x3
  • Cryogonal Ice x5

TM143 (BlizzardTM):

  • Snowrut Fur x5
  • Snover Berries x3
  • Cryogonal Ice x3

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available on Nintendo Switch.
