The 2.0 update for Cyberpunk 2077 introduces a slew of new content, including new objects like the Cyberware Capacity Shards. The 2.0 Patch serves as a tie-in for the Phantom Liberty expansion DLC launching in September. The update makes changes to the game, improving on aspects players thought were lacking with the title at launch. The patch adds Cyberware Capacity Shards in the game to help balance the Cyberware Capacity. The capacity limits how many technological upgrades you can incorporate into your character, disallowing you to upgrade too much, too fast.

Cyberware Capacity Shards can be looted off the bodies of fallen enemies in Cyberpunk 2077. These shards are uncommon drops from foes, so expect to grind through many enemies to accumulate plenty of these items. You can find the shards on any enemy in the game.

Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 introduced Cyberware Capacity. Cyberware is the technology that V, your player character, can install in themselves. You can effectively transform yourself into a cyborg with the amount of Cyberware you can incorporate into yourself. However, the Cyberware Capacity limits how many upgrades you can install.

Collecting Cyberware Capacity Shards will increase your capacity, allowing you to give V more technological upgrades. You can update any part of your body, giving yourself whatever kind of enhancements you want. You can add cybernetic to your legs to boost your speeds or increase your hacking abilities.

The shards are automatically added to your capacity after looting them from bodies. You can also increase your Cyberware Capacity by leveling up and unlocking perks. You increase your capacity by three every time you level up. Unlocking the Renaissance Punk and Edgerunner perk on the Technical Ability tree will also increase your Cyberware Capacity.
