The flying scorpion Pokemon Gligar returns in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, The Teal Mask. Gligar is a Ground and Flying-type Pokemon first introduced in Pokemon Gold and Silver. Gligar was one of the many fan-favorite Pokemon that didn’t make the cut in Scarlet and Violet, but it returns to the franchise as part of The Teal Mask DLC. Now, you can recapture the flying scorpion Pokemon again in the Kitakami area of Paldea. Gligar can also evolve into Gliscor, another cool Flying and Ground-type Pokemon you can have in your party.

Gligar is exclusive to Pokemon Scarlet, meaning Pokemon Violet players won’t be able to encounter the Pokemon in their copies of the game. If you want a Gligar in Pokemon Violet, you need to trade with a Pokemon Scarlet player.

In Pokemon Scarlet, the best place to capture a wild Gligar is northwest of the Oni Mountain. The Oni Mountain is in the middle of the Kitakami map. Gligar specifically can be located on the Paradise Barrens and the Kitakami Wilds areas of the Kitakami map. You should be able to see Gligar’s flying in the air, hiding in trees, or crawling on the ground.

Gligar is a Ground and Flying-type, meaning it is weak against Flying and Ice-type attacks. Gligar is also completely immune to Ground and Electric moves. Since Gligar is a first-stage Pokemon with low stats, you can easily capture one with Quick Ball at the start of a match. If you encounter a Gligar during the night, you can also easily capture the Pokemon with a Dusk Ball.

How To Evolve Gligar Into Gliscor in The Teal Mask

Gligar must hold a Razor Fang and level up once at night to evolve into a Gliscor in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, The Teal Mask. Razor Fang is not one of the items you can gain in the base game, nor is it an item you can buy. Instead, Razor Fang is one of the rewards you obtain by filling out your Kitakami Pokedex.

You need to have seen 110 Pokemon in Kitakami to gain a Razor Fang. You don’t need to have captured 110 Pokemon in Kitakami, only seen 110 Pokemon. Once you’ve witnessed 110 Pokemon, head to your Pokedex selection on the main menu and accept your award by clicking the X button.
