The Boy Who Lived isn’t the only one who needs a little luck now and then. In Hogwarts Legacy, you can whip up a batch of “Liquid Luck” with Felix Felicis, one of the most potent potions around. If it helps Harry Potter, it has to be amazing, right? But you must learn how to brew the potion first, and obtaining it is not as difficult or exclusive as it used to be in the past.

Learning Felix Felicis Potions Recipe in Hogwarts Legacy
Previously, Felix Felicis was not obtained like other potions in Hogwarts Legacy. It started out as an exclusive for PS4/PS5 players who pre-ordered the game. However, the June 2024 update made it available for everyone. And just our luck that you can receive a little Liquid Luck automatically.
To access Felix Felicis, all you must do is play the game as you’ll receive the recipe automatically. Following your first potions lesson with Professor Sharp, the tool wheel and potions station are unlocked along with Felix Felicis. All that’s left to do is gather your ingredients and brew the potion.
Recipe for Felix Felicis
Since Felix Felicis is available for every Hogwarts Legacy player, all you need to worry about is having the necessary ingredients to brew it. Thankfully, you only need two items:
- Fluxweed Stem x1: Sold at The Magic Neep (150) || Grow it in a pot
- Lacewing Flies x1: Sold at J. Pippin’s Potions, Jalal Sehmi, and Fatimah Lawang (100) || Loot it in the wild
How Felix Felicis Works in Hogwarts Legacy
As mentioned, out of all your potions, you want to consume Felix Felicis when you need luck. More specifically, it reveals the location of large loot chests for one in-game day. With Felix Felicis readily available for all players now, everyone can become a loot goblin.
