Smoke Bombs are one of the most useful tools in Kay Vess’ arsenal. While it is useful in its base form, you can increase its utility by upgrading this item. One of the upgrades you can get is Ion Smoke Bombs, which you can access after you help Temmin Wexley during the main mission. Like other upgrades in Star Wars Outlaws, you need to find a key expert part called Flux Compressor. You won’t encounter any enemy while picking up this item, but some players may struggle to find it since the path to reach the material is not obvious.
How To Unlock Ion Smoke Bombs in Star Wars Outlaws
In Star Wars Outlaws, you can obtain the Flux Compressor from a secret treasure stash north of Mount Selasa. To reach this location, you have to unlock the Hydrorepulsor Speeder ability. You can get this skill once you progress through the main mission in Akiva and meet Temmin Wexley.
After fast traveling using the Mount Selasa teleportation point, you can travel via the river to reach the open water. Then, just head north until you see waterfalls. To your right, you can find a stone ramp that you can use. Just get on your speeder and activate the Boost ability to jump past the hole.

Various obstacles will block your path, but you can destroy them using the Blaster’s Power Module. The last challenge you must complete is a puzzle. You have to activate four energy conduits before they turn off using your Blaster’s Ion Module.
Note that conduits number two and three are hidden behind obstacles. You have to destroy the rocks with the Power Module first. Afterward, you have to be quick and follow the numbers in the image to activate all the conduits.
The Flux Compressor is only one of the materials required to unlock the Ion Smoke Bomb in Star Wars Outlaws. You also need to have 25 Durasteels and 10 Ray Accelerators.
