Even your mount in Diablo 4 can join in on the fashion endgame. While most of them look like undead horses, one undead horse, the Spectral Charger a.k.a. the Ghost Mount is bound to turn heads. For one, it’s a ghost horse, and it’s quite a rare sight since obtaining it requires more work compared to other mounts. Here’s how to get the Ghost Mount in Diablo 4.

[Updated on September 5, 2024 – Added more detailed instructions and how to use the mount]

Sadly, there’s no guaranteed way to get the Spectral Charger mount skin in Diablo 4. There’s a fair bit of chance and RNG that you have to endure if you really want it. Follow this step-by-step procedure for the Spectral Charger mount.

  1. Unlock Horses first: Complete the “Donan’s Favor” quest to gain access to horses if you haven’t done so already. It’s part of the Campaign.
  2. Set World Tier to 3 or 4: This increases the frequency of the event and the volume of enemies and boosts your chances of obtaining rare items.
  3. Find a Legion Event: Look for Legion Events on your map, as these events are common and involve multiple players.
  4. Defeat the Legion Event Boss: Participate in the event and defeat the boss to have a chance at receiving the Spectral Charger Mount Skin.
  5. Repeat steps 3-4 if you don’t obtain the Spectral Charger.

Note that again, there’s no guarantee of obtaining the Spectral Charger or Ghost Mount. You might have to try and complete several Legion Events again and again for increased chances.

Additionally, the Ghost Horse is Account-Bound. The mount is tied to your account and cannot be sold or traded.

How to Use the Spectral Charger

Once you’ve obtained the Spectral Charger or Diablo 4 Ghost Mount, you might have to look first into your inventory as some mounts show up as an item. Right-click it to transfer it into your stable options if it already hasn’t automatically gone there.

Afterward, you can go to any stable in any city or town and talk to the stable NPC. On the ‘Mount’ options, select the Spectral Charger and customize it with Mount Armor and Trophies. Or you can just leave it as is.
