Put all the Purah Pad selfies on hold and continue reading to find out.
Presenting: Hero’s Path Mode Tears of the Kingdom Walkthrough
Before you venture to get Hero’s Path Mode in Tears of the Kingdom, you will have to do some quests first. Ultimately, your goal is to learn the Autobuild ability by exploring the Depths. Once you do so, you will be able to fix Robbie’s balloon, which will enable Robbie to head to Purah Pad Laboratory, located in Hateno Village. Just follow the marker on your map and you will be ok.
Once you arrive, Robbie will grant you the ability to use the Shrine Sensor. This was introduced before in Breath of the Wild, as a sort of radar that helps you find Shrines. Afterward, he will talk about three available upgrades you can get: the Travel Medallion, Sensor+, and Hero’s Path Mode. Each of them requires you to achieve a goal for you to unlock it.
To complete “Presenting: Hero’s Path Mode”, you will have to visit and complete 15 Shrines. If you have been exploring for a while, you will definitely be overqualified for this quest. Talk to Robbie immediately and ask for this specific upgrade. If not, use your recently acquired Shrine Sensor and complete 15 Shrines and return to the Lab in Hateno Village.
Once unlocked, all you have to do is open your map and press X and you will see every single step you have made as green lines. This includes both the Sky Islands and Depths as well. You will have an instructional poster on the Lab’s wall for you to read it. It will help you understand this new mechanic and how to use it wisely.
You will now have the ability to trace every step you’ve made in Tears of the Kingdom! This is especially useful if you are trying to visit new areas and found yourself a little lost by looking at the regular map. Go ahead and visit those Shrines to complete “Presenting: Hero’s Path Mode”. Do that and you’ll be able to see how you have literally left your mark in Hyrule.
